How to Disrupt a Multi-Billion Dollar Industry During Covid19

We talked to Nicolas Rahme of DocShipper on how where time is money, they save both, and this is what he had to say.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Nicolas Rahme: Despite an anxiety-provoking atmosphere created by the mainstream media, all is well. Covid19 has made it possible (almost) to eliminate certain diseases such as the flu.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded DocShipper?
Nicolas Rahme: I started my entrepreneurship adventure right after the graduation of my master’s degree in a French business school, and it seems I picked the right business model directly as I’m still in the same industry since 2015: Import/export (logistics, sourcing, and 3PL).
How does DocShipper innovate?
Nicolas Rahme: As for many (huge) startups such as Uber, Airbnb, Booking.com.We focus on three pillars: Digital marketing (high volume of users), sales process (to get the trust of our customers), and network (because we have the two first pillars we can enjoy an extensive network. It’s the same for Uber with the number of taxi or Airbnb with the number of landlords.)
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Nicolas Rahme: It affected the shipping process, space availability, and finally, the cost. In the meantime, it (political decision) is killing our competitors, so we are just grabbing their flow, which is an opportunity for us.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Nicolas Rahme: We keep the same philosophy, business model, and expectation for the future of DocShipper. The current situation is boosting our business so we won’t complain about any difficulties.
How do you deal with stress and anxiety?
Nicolas Rahme: Should I keep my secret? Just a question of determination at the end.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Nicolas Rahme: At the moment, we have three different departments (Procurement, International Logistics, and 3PL), and no one is trying to attack those 3 (linked) fields simultaneously. That’s how we stay in the game: trust, determination, and agility.
