Telecoms Supermarket India – Changing how Businesses Buy Telecom Services in India

Raman Singh, founder of Telecoms Supermarket Group tells us about broadband network comparison.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Raman Singh: We are all good though we had one bereavement due to COVID-19 and lost one of our dearest family members. We are coping up with the hard times we have been put in and thankfully we will pass this as well soon.
Tell us about you, your career, and how you founded Telecoms Supermarket Group.
Raman Singh: I am the co-founder of Telecoms Supermarket Group which initially started out of the United Kingdom and we thoughtfully launched in India. I am a Telecoms and IT veteran with more than 2 decades of experience across the globe and found that business telecommunications was a critical piece and it took any business days and sometimes months to decide on new technology or service.
How does Telecoms Supermarket Group innovate?
Raman Singh: We are firm believers of technology and our scope includes working regularly on the technology of our platforms. We have an in-house team of developers and marketing which is regularly encouraged for new ideas and educating them with new technologies which in return help our organization to innovate for a better tomorrow. We pass the same innovation concept for “Digital business” to our customers as well with our impaneled partners.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business and how are you coping?
Raman Singh: Being Online and a digital business helped us to minimize the pandemic effects as we were working throughout the period and thankfully our employees did a fantastic job to enable a lot of home workers with connectivity and internet connections. Impacted businesses were also helped and served with work from anywhere solution and platforms for the first time in India. Corona pandemic also taught us how to operate further without employees coming to the office yet the whole business being operational.
Did you have to make difficult choices and what are the lessons learned?
Raman Singh: Difficulty was to understand the productivity and ROI of the employees which made us implement some cloud-based tracking and job management solution which resulted in overall employee satisfaction as well as productivity. Another issue was to manage the phone calls so we implemented a Cloud-based contact center solution so the calls were passed to agents working from home and customer delight was captured. Core lesson learned out of this was that Cloud is the way forward which not only offers complete BCP and DR but also offers much more resilience and productivity out of any business.
What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to navigate this crisis?
Raman Singh: We used our proprietary enhanced CMS platform for managing the complete platform right from customer visit to the solution offered. The complete customer journey was also captured and maintained on our In-house developed cloud-based CRM. Cloud Telephony made it easier to manage all our calls and agents’ timing. We are now creating a single dashboard to manage all applications and tools to monitor and control the specific function in our business.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Raman Singh: After we launched in India, there were a few companies who mushroomed but thankfully given our experience in Telecoms and IT space, there is no match to our experience. Our free business telecom audit service is gaining traction with more and more businesses enrolling to make sure their businesses are up and working at all times. The group experience in Telecoms and IT is more than 120 man-years combined which is too much for any other company to come and hack.
Your final thoughts?
Raman Singh: We are a Startup and we enable businesses of all sizes to go digital and enable work from anywhere culture.
