We talked to Rehan Latif, Founder & CEO of RAR Multibiz Services Pvt Ltd on how they provide e-solutions for the future needs of businesses and here is what he said about it.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Rehan Latif: I am from Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. From the start of the Covid-19 breakout, our government and Rescue staff, along with Law enforcement agencies, started giving the best they can. They were on high alerts, and in times of lockdowns and smart lockdowns, they tried to ease the public by facilitating them. My family kept strong in that time and observed all the SOPs that helped us protect ourselves in those hard times.
We made those days an opportunity to sit together, listen to stories from our elders, learn a new skill, read books, eat healthily, and play indoor games. My children studied online, and my parents buckled us up and raised our energies. We used to call our relatives using video and conference calls, shared our routines and encouraged them to be strong and follow the SOPs.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded RAR Multibiz Services Pvt Ltd.
Rehan Latif: Being an entrepreneur by nature, I started my own company during my graduation in 2004. After being graduated from a renowned university, I joined a software house alongside my own business. The core purpose was to polish my skills and get more out of my daily routines. This proved fruitful, and I launched my own software house back in 2010. Initially, we relied on freelance projects, but by that time, some of our freelance clients turned out to be our permanent clients.
In 2015 we formally started bidding on Government level and International organization level projects as I was pretty much focused on quality, so our company delivered the best under my supervision. As a result, we won our countries highest ICT awards for consecutive four years.
We have completed projects for the Government of Pakistan and international organizations like UNDP, USAID, GIZ, Asia Foundation and World Bank.
I also indulged in training youth and bagged the Best Trainer Award back in 2018.
How does RAR Multibiz Services Pvt Ltd innovate?
Rehan Latif: At RAR Multi-Biz Services Pvt Ltd, our dedicated team works in conjunction with our clients towards a common goal of business growth. We aim to become a trusted and well-known brand.
Our main concern is to find a problem and build a quality solution for that. SDG Innovation awards and [email protected] ICT awards won by our company are proof of our innovative work.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, our company was busy building a Mobile Application to track and report cases to Rescue departments under Pilot Innovative Ideas. That application was the first of its kind in our country, having abilities to track and locate via GIS and mobile locations.
How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances?
Rehan Latif: RAR Multi-Biz Services Pvt Ltd provides e-solutions for future needs. In the hard times of the Covid-19 Pandemic, our company built solutions for the Health Department, law enforcing agencies, as well as Online shopping stores for clients across the country.
Our employees started working from home during the lockdown, which increased our communication cost but didn’t impact our production and development.
Did you have to make difficult choices regarding human resources, and what are the lessons learned?
Rehan Latif: HR is the key to a company’s success. In the times when every business was downsizing, our company stood the same, we didn’t cut down on our HR. even though we slashed on our extra expenses, but we managed to form a reliable online working enjoyment.
The most important lessons learnt during the pandemic were the tinny relations, and communication benefits that we take for granted can be proved the key to success. Secondly, we should find ways out to adjust in scenarios like Covid-19. When life throws you curveballs, just keep hitting them back. In life, you are a support for many people around you, so you have to act strong and lead from the front.
How did your customer relationship management evolve? Do you use any specific tools to be efficient?
Rehan Latif: We have our own CRM and customer relationship solution. We upgraded the system and linked it with high tech virtual meetings that proved to be productive and efficient.
Social media being the best available tool. We also used Zoom that helped us conduct virtual client meetings, had team meetings and conference calls as per our needs.
Did you benefit from any government grants, and did that help keep your business afloat?
Rehan Latif: RAR Multibiz Services Pvt. Ltd solely depends on its customers, and we hardly go for grants. Our Business model is to earn by providing services and developing new products that can be sold out to generate revenues. We got a large number of clientage that helped us keep our business afloat.
Your final thoughts?
Rehan Latif: Current pandemic proved the necessity of ICT in our lives. This emerging technology opened so many gateways for our youth that they can flourish their skills at their homes. They can learn, utilize and earn at the same time without getting out of their premises.
We should make opportunities from the circumstances we are facing. Help each other and should stay strong.
