Romit Gabani of Webibazaar Templates Tells Us How He Managed His Web Development Company with a Positive Mindset during Covid-19 Crisis

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Romit Gabani: Thanks for asking, and I hope you and your team are doing well. We have many positive cases in our city, and the numbers are still growing, but we are absolutely fine. We are still maintaining safety precautions in these hard times. Our team is working remotely from home so that we can still satisfy our client’s needs.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Webibazaar.
Romit Gabani: As I completed college in the IT field, my business partner Romit Sachani and I started creating our first ever website theme for the platform known as opencart as a startup business in 2016. It took 8 to 9 months to create a perfect website design.
We got a positive result about what we did. We hired a small group of people to work in our company, and we started selling our themes on some of the well-known website template marketplaces.
As we kept growing, we also had hard times struggling to get sales, but we didn’t lose hope. We stayed consistent and started to create themes for different platforms like Opencart, Prestashop, Shopify, Woocommerce, WordPress, etc.
We got a great response, so we now jumped into creating our own marketplace where people can get many options to choose their business-related templates and create their perfect eCommerce website.
How does Webibazaar innovate?
Romit Gabani: We are into the website development business. We provide custom website design or ready to use website templates essential for any business owners who are willing to take their business online.
We also provide website services if our clients are struggling through any kind of website problems so that they can run their business smoothly.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Romit Gabani: As the whole world was dealing with this Covid-19 pandemic, we were still helping our clients to create their online business presence.
We interacted with many clients from different countries and worked on creating their business websites and promoting their products or services to reach more people and provide products with safety first in mind.
We created many websites that are related to food and essential household products during the lockdown. We were working more than 12 hours a day to fulfill our client’s needs.
We noticed that many people started to create their business presence online during this covid-19 crisis, which is great.
They spend their time being creative and staying up with us remotely for customizing their website. We also taught many clients how to create their business website without any coding knowledge.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Romit Gabani: Firstly, when this Covid-19 came into action, we took this lockdown as a chance to promote our business to those people who were up for getting their store online.
We also offered them a special price, so they afford it and don’t hesitate to create their online store.
We got a positive response, and we got more orders than normal days. By seeing an increment in our revenue, we can say that people are still standing to dominate Covid-19 and get back to their normal lives.
We felt so special when people from different countries interacted with us and appreciated us for what we were doing during this hard time. Our whole team felt proud of it, and we finally decided to expand our business through digital marketing worldwide.
How do you deal with stress and anxiety?
Romit Gabani: At starting, we felt stressed about how we will continue working remotely from home, but as we were confident about what we were doing so, it helped us to work harder.
We provided a special support service to our clients that completely changed our business style, and people preferred us more than purchasing website themes from the big marketplaces.
We got an opportunity to prove to our clients that we can fulfill their needs even though we sometimes struggle to understand their language during interactions.
So yeah, we don’t have to deal much with stress and anxiety; in fact, we felt so positive about our future business goals, and we started working on it.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Romit Gabani: There are many competitors in our targeted market, but we never felt that we were not doing good compared to them. We analyzed them and saw how they were dealing during this hard time.
As we want to stay in the game, we decided to take limited orders and complete them with a strategy in mind.
We also talked with our clients personally and inspired them on how they can create their website by keeping their customers in mind and designing their website.
They were glad to work with us, which makes us feel that we have the potential to reach more people and provide them with special services.
Your final thoughts?
Romit Gabani: I would like to thank startup.info for this amazing, inspiring interview series and for giving me a chance to introduce myself to this amazing community.
Stay dedicated and never lose hope for what we are doing. Being consistent with a positive mindset can be helpful to stay healthy and safe during this hard time.
