We talked to Sachin Verma of TZi Solutions on how to develop IT applications that automate businesses and this is what he had to say.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Sachin Verma: First of all, thank you for asking. My team and my family members are doing good and hope the same for you and your readers. The early lockdown in India helped spread COVID19 and time to prepare, so things turned out okay. Unfortunately, we as a country lost many precious lives and may god give these bereaved friends and families strength.
Around March-June business got a hit but the lockdown lifting was in phased manner things are getting back on track.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded TZi Solutions.
Sachin Verma: I am 2016 passed out Electrical and electronics engineer. I am a fan of technology, literature, and music. The spirit of entrepreneurship was in my mind for quite long, but somewhere around 3rd year into my engineering, I thought to work independently. Meanwhile, my friend and co-founder came up to me with the idea to build an application (FillandFind.com) which could assist student make an informed decision based on facts and past data. After lots of research and working together, we came with the Prototype of an education portal – FillandFind.com.
Here I would also like to point out that our college PSIT, Kanpur was very supportive and help us pursue our dream in the best possible way. Later as we grew as a company, we launched multiple SaaS products (mybizinfo.co, eduerp4u.com, quickinfo.me) keeping in view market demand and requirements.
Since developing and Marketing these products required upfront capital, so somewhere around March 2017, we also started IT Services division. Since then, we have already onboarded 15+ enterprise clients and delivered more than 50 projects of varying complexity and scale.
How does TZi Solutions innovate and help others to do the same?
Sachin Verma: Reform, Transformation and Innovation are the core driving principles for our company’s culture. TZi Solutions Primarily focuses on developing digital solutions that could ease our clients’ lives and the product’s end-users. Our company’s one line mantra for development for any solutions is Simplicity, Scalability and Security. Capitalizing on the accumulated experience, we provide overall services ranging from business analysis to consulting to project implementation and development support.
For example, this Covid problem that brought the whole world to a halt was the only way out during these troubling times was an innovation. After initial setbacks, wherein they lost a couple of clients due to budget cuts at their end, we wore our thinking caps and started to look for other fields and geographical area to expand. We found a great opportunity, particularly in education and MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises). We quickly redesigned our already running products namely eduerp4u.com( For education) and mybizinfo.co
(For MSME), and re-launched to help an organization from these two sectors take advantage of IT innovations and try to keep their business as usual.
TZi Solutions is a firm advocate that a business without a digital presence is like a computer without internet.
We have brought an excellent product: www.mybizinfo.co, which will help various organizations build a digital identity (in terms of business website, eCommerce site and Business management solutions). They’ll get more customers online, boost your business among interested customers and Display your work 24×7 to potentials clients.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Sachin Verma: To be honest, we, like everyone else, faced certain troubling times for two quarters. But from the inception of the company itself, our lean approach towards expenses and proper investment toward employee growth and training has undoubtedly proved fruitful. Though IT faced limited issues since our clients from those sectors faced the hardship the most, we face the heat due to their internal budget cuts.
But, we didn’t deter from commitment towards our clients. We tried our best to meet the deadlines and keep the business continuity for them. We were thankful towards our clients who understood and shown great agility and adoptability towards the solution provided. We could overcome this hardship only because we had an excellent team who stood by us during these difficult times and were very patient, thoughtful and percept to changing scenarios.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Sachin Verma: Fortunately, we have been comfortable where we didn’t let anyone go. But because of the pandemic impacting our business, the most difficult choice that we made, was to give pay-cut of 25% and, in return, expect more than ever efforts from our team. Honestly, they did a fantastic job keeping our clients satisfied and coping with their stress and anxiety at a personal level.
The most significant learning from all this is that we, as a business, need to be sector agnostic and diversify our offering so that problems mitigation is adequate. An incredible culture of co-operation, healthy competition and most of all, integrity towards one self’s roles and responsibility is what has and will keep you on a growth trajectory.
How do you deal with stress and anxiety, how do you project TZi Solutions in the future?
Sachin Verma: Communication is the key. We were open, compassionate and empathetic towards that member who needs to discuss specific issues which may or may not be due to change the mode of work – work from home.
Since the businesses slowly and steadily are getting back to normal, we are hoping that next five years we will be able to expand in more geographies, especially in the MENA and European market and onboard more clients and offer our services to them.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Sachin Verma: Since we have multiple products to offer, we have varies competitors for each of them. Few of our competitors are doing great in terms of market reach and penetration. Hopefully, our innovative solutions, Go to market strategies in sync with target audience and market’s demand, demography and geography will help them outrank them in the next couple of years.
Digital platforms are our prime focus, and we always for new organizations and individual for collaborations, partnership for mutual growth and benefits.
Your final thoughts?
Sachin Verma: One of the most deadly impacts of this pandemic after the health and well-being was on every nation’s businesses and economic setup. Things are changing gradually and probably after a year, or things will like it used to be during pre-Covid times.
But as also said earlier, only those who adapt to the changes shall overcome the challenges posed by this challenging time. Honestly, it’s all about survival of the fittest. Thus my recommendation would adopt digital solutions like having a modern standard business website, an online store/eCommerce website, and business management tools for HR, operations and logistics etc. for better reachability, efficiency and management of all your business activities.
