Find Your Opportunity in COVID-19 Pandemic, Says Sanghun Han of FLEXWEB

We talked to Sanghun Han, CEO at FLEXWEB about digital marketing services and here is what he said about it.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Sanghun Han: We are doing well. In Korea, hundreds of COVID-19 confirmed cases are constantly appearing every day, so we tend to stay at home as much as we can.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded FLEXWEB.
Sanghun Han: I started my first business 6 years ago. I made my own mobile game and but it didn’t go well after launch. Since then, I have engaged in various businesses such as Media content platform, Chrome extension program, community website, e-commerce, etc. Currently, I operate a web agency which provide website production and digital marketing services to different companies.
How does FLEXWEB innovate?
Sanghun Han: We are provided with a modern code-based website that many web agencies are not good at. It is common for older agencies to use the previous generation techniques to build patterns without writing modern libraries or programming patterns. Old technology may not be completely bad, but there are many things that modern technology does solve easily. So we lead in performance, cost, and production duration.
How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances?
Sanghun Han: It’s increasing. The COVID-19 crisis is reducing the value of offline businesses and increasing the value of online businesses. I believe many online businesses are benefiting.
Did you have to make difficult choices regarding human resources, and what are the lessons learned?
Sanghun Han: When we introduce ourselves to someone, we try to show only the best. In other words, that appearance is the best image that the person has about us. For this reason, we consider that they will not be able to work better than our expectations. Evaluation of a person can depend on emotions or situations. Therefore, we tend to focus on measurable results rather than human words or actions.
How did your customer relationship management evolve? Do you use any specific tools to be efficient?
Sanghun Han: We made our own tools for customer management, and then we started our business. Of course, this process was not easy. We had to look at the various CRMs and transform them to form we needed.
Did you benefit from any government grants, and did that help keep your business afloat?
Sanghun Han: During COVID-19 pandemic, customers failed to pay on time, so we decided to seek government grants.
Your final thoughts?
Sanghun Han: The world is having a very tough time. However, I think companies that survive when many businesses are in the swing of things will gain more power later on. Startups should get on the chance. To compete with companies that run already completed businesses, we need to take advantage of the recent COVID-19 crisis as an opportunity.
