Alliancing with Technology for a Better Today

We spoke to Shahzad Atta of Techliance LLC about software development solutions, and he had the following to say:-
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Shahzad Atta: As an individual with a family, I have always believed in today. We have to stay focused on the present and keep going. In this testing time, we all need to be patient and stay safe. My family and friends are doing well, and I hope we all make it through this pandemic.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Techliance.
Shahzad Atta: Having started as a Software Engineer back in 2003, I always believed in entrepreneurship and the potential of the Software Industry of Pakistan. I decided to start off on my own venture in 2008. I was lucky to collaborate with Doug Roylance and Khurram Elahi, who are my business partners at Techliance.
We were one of the few tech companies in Pakistan to outsource software development solutions and services to companies across the globe. As a company, we have been fortunate enough to build long-lasting partnerships with clients. Hence, the name Techliance suits us as we are Technology Partners with a great alliance with customers all over the world.
How does Techliance innovate?
Shahzad Atta: As part of mobile and web-based solution development, we believe in the continuous incorporation of best industry practices. We keep a tab on the market trends to speculate what needs to be paid attention to. We also are pushing towards insightful practices by reading between the lines in our customer interactions.
To further enhance great ideas, we encourage our resources to stay abreast with the latest technological advancements and pursue certifications, participate in online workshops and classes to gain more knowledge that can be put to use in our projects.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Shahzad Atta: This has been an uncontrollable chain effect that has slowed all of us down. The first two quarters went fine as we have the cash flow going with existing projects in development. The last quarter is challenging for us as we finally got affected by the overall economic slowdown chain effect. Having said that, Techliance has been able to sustain itself quite well, and the pace is picking up again.
With the majority of businesses now following the online model, the scope of IT has expanded. We are looking forward to enabling businesses by allowing them to engage and capture the audience in the market through cost-effective mobile and web solutions.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Shahzad Atta: We are fortunate to have supportive employees and considerate clients who understood the situation and worked with us to make sure all businesses can sustain in the best possible manner. One of our client’s business suffered pretty bad, and we decided to defer their payments for one year. Some of our clients have become more diligent in paying their invoices on time to make sure we are doing great.
This kind of gesture helped Techliance and its clients stay in business. Having a good relationship with your employees and clients is the most important lesson we learned in this pandemic. Our employees have the flexibility to work in the model they prefer, with our clients getting extensions in payout against their services; we play our part to make sure everyone sees this through.
How do you deal with stress and anxiety? How do you project yourself and Techliance in the future?
Shahzad Atta: We apply the “Do your Best, Leave Out the Rest” policy in our work. That’s why despite all challenges, our business has not been affected by the impact of pay cuts, layoffs, or any stress pertaining to losing business.
In fact, we are continuing on a steadfast pace with great projectile and hoping for a great home-run for FY 2020.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Shahzad Atta: We believe that we are our own competition. We draw inspiration from the market and observe our competition to evaluate the delta. This helps us understand what we are doing differently and whether this is helping us be a better service provider to our customers or not.
We will continue moving forward in the best way possible so that our customers remain our top priority.
Your final thoughts?
Shahzad Atta: In the most testing year for us all, I want to be a source of support for fellow entrepreneurs and companies. We are all in this together. Techliance welcomes companies to reach out to us. We can work together to keep our businesses sustained in this hard time.
Our promise to customers: we are always going to look out for your best interests. We believe in economizing and providing the best possible solutions that appeal to the target audience. Reach us at info@techliance.com to ease your entrepreneurship and startup journey. Together we will prevail.
