Sharat Nair, the owner and founder of SEO Power Solutions tells us how the leading ROI-driven digital marketing company provides creative solutions.

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times? 

Sharat Nair: It’s a difficult time for the whole world in terms of finance, health, development, and freedom. Fortunately, my family and I are doing ok, and these Covid times once again have proved how volatile the world where we live is. 

Tell us about you, your career, how you founded SEO Power Solutions.

Sharat Nair: I always wanted to do something of my own, but I was not very fond of academics which in India is a big thing, and conservative thought is that you have to be good at academics to succeed in life. I graduated but had no idea where to start. So I ventured into the BPO sector and worked for a few years with good growth, but something was lacking. So I quit the industry and was jobless. Then again, I started looking for a new job in a new industry, and I took a job in an SEO company. It was altogether a new industry, and I learned the basics there. I loved the work I did and thus performed well. I was promoted to a good position quickly, but I was under tremendous work pressure. I was giving 12-13 hours a day and was working my ass off for someone else. Then I thought, what if I work for myself and give this much effort to my own company. I knew the work but had no idea about procuring clients but still went ahead with my belief, started my own firm, and worked for myself. Now, after 8 years, we are a team of 10 members catering to more than 100 clients overseas. 

How does SEO Power Solutions innovate? 

Sharat Nair: Our innovation strategy evolves around what our clients require in the changing times. 

How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances?

Sharat Nair: Yes, it has affected us a bit, but as marketing is the soul of every business, it must go on for good business ROI. 

Did you have to make difficult choices regarding human resources, and what are the lessons learned?

Sharat Nair: No, fortunately, we did not make any difficult decisions in respect of Human Resource. 

How did your customer relationship management evolve? Do you use any specific tools to be efficient?

Sharat Nair: It has evolved more technologically, and now we have more options to reach our clientele very swiftly. Skype, Zoom & Google Hangouts are used the most. Special mention for WhatsApp, which has been the most useful tool for immediate and direct communication. 

Did you benefit from any government grants, and did that help keep your business afloat?

Sharat Nair: No.
