Should your startup go to CES Las Vegas next year

Is CES Las Vegas still the place to be for startups?

CES Las Vegas takes place at the beginning of the year and it has been the place to be for a variety of tech companies. If you’re a startup and you’re working on something innovative, you need to show off your product at CES. The great thing is that your product doesn’t have to be ready for mass production. If anything, you can bring just a prototype and show it off to other people. It will help immensely, and it will bring in front the type of solutions you can provide to a larger audience. That alone can be very exciting.

Can a startup go to CES Las Vegas without a lot of marketing?

Of course, CES Las Vegas is a great place for all startups. The best part is that you can come with your idea and prototype or even finished products. Then you will have the audience ready to browse all your projects and see what you came up with. Since many startups don’t have money for exhaustive marketing promotions, CES Las Vegas does a very good job of promoting them. You can easily generate a lot of leads and customers this way, as long as your product is a memorable one.

That being said, you have to realize that CES Las Vegas is an overflow of technology. So there will always be a lot of companies in the same field competing for the same customers. Which is why innovation is the key component here. If your products/services are not innovative, it will be very hard to stand out in front of the customers.

Competing with vetted technology companies

Yes, when you go to CES Las Vegas, you can barely afford a small booth as a startup. That means you can easily be overshadowed by large booths from companies like Samsung, Huawei or LG, among many others. You have to accept that, and you also need to create solutions that those companies are still not covering yet.

At the end of the day, a good way for startups to stand out at CES Las Vegas is to have something that no one has. Either that or you need a better perspective or new features added to an existing product. It all comes down to innovating.

Some fields like TVs or automotive are constantly at the forefront of CES Las Vegas. But if you have something new that no one has seen or heard of, that’s obviously something which will attract a lot of views and press coverage.

Should your startup go to CES Las Vegas next year?

In many ways yes, your startup needs to be at CES Las Vegas. This is a place where tech enthusiasts from all over the world come to see the latest tools and gadgets. So that’s where you can present your offer, your work and you can generate an audience. There are lots of journalists here too. That means you get to obtain the online promotion you want, and people will hear about your offer. It’s important to go to CES Las Vegas as this is an amazing outlet for presenting your offer and showcasing your creative solutions. While it won’t generate sales right away, it’s still the place to be for any IT startup!
