Slava Chernysh of OneLogicSoft tells us about its practical, elegant, and easy to use business applications.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Slava Chernysh: Thank you. We are good. A little tired of sitting home. We have two kids, 8 and 5. And it’s a challenge to keep yourself focused on work, at least usual during hours.
Also, the management has changed. When everybody is locked down and working remotely, most of us are experiencing the same challenges and written communication. It takes much more time and works asynchronously. When you are writing to someone, he/she can be doing some other stuff and will answer later when you will be doing some other stuff.
So our work definitely has changed. Everything: communication, reporting, working hours, and schedule has changed. We adjusted to remote work.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded OneLogicSoft.
Slava Chernysh: Well, I graduated from both technical and economic Universities. My first job was at ISP support in the early 2000th. So I studied people’s issues, how to solve them, serve clients and make them happy. That helped me in the future to better understand their needs, building relationships, etc. Many of my connections from there grew into a long terms collaboration. Then there was a long way of growing and getting experience of a variety of jobs. And the last my job as the employee was in sales. In 2017 I established my own company and started my way own way.
How does OneLogicSoft innovate?
Slava Chernysh: We follow the latest technologies and innovations in programming, management, approaches. We develop cross-platform technologies and offer them to our clients. We are telling its benefits for startups especially.
The World is changing, and we try to change as well. We open new tech directions, build ML/AI on our projects, video streaming. We build products we see potential in. It’s business tooling, online catalogs, booking engines, face/body recognition, etc., and partner on these products with people who also see opportunities in such tools.
How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances?
Slava Chernysh: 2020 was different. I wouldn’t say it was bad. However, spring-summer was very stressful; the autumn was better. Some clients put their contract on pause or postponed for better times. However, everybody understands now that all of us should transform to survive. And we are able to support this transformation with our services.
In total, the year was normal.
Did you have to make difficult choices regarding human resources, and what are the lessons learned?
Slava Chernysh: We didn’t fire anyone in the team, and we are proud of that. We survived, and being a digital company, we proved that we are able to change fast, adapt to the new World and processes.
How did your customer relationship management evolve? Do you use any specific tools to be efficient?
Slava Chernysh: Yes, the communication and sales have changed significantly. Almost all clients reduced their budgets, taking decision process has changed, became longer. The client wants to negotiate their project budgets with decision-makers, owners directly, request postponed payments. We give it to them where possible. We use CRM and the software that we developed for our sales process.
Did you benefit from any government grants, and did that help keep your business afloat?
Slava Chernysh: No, only our clients, good quality of our work, communication, and relationships keep us fed today.

Slava Chernysh: Being hard workers, we are able to build our future. I believe it will be successful and different future. Keep transformation up, be flexible and fast in making decisions, and everything will be fine with your business.
