First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Stefan Lim: We are doing all right. Other than a restriction to large gatherings, we are generally free to go about with our business. The government has managed the situation well, and there aren’t many cases here.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded storify.me.
Stefan Lim: storify.me is an app-less marketplace and management platform for marketers and independent creators/influencers. We help businesses create scalable content assets by using analytics and AI to power every stage of their engagement with creators, from search to rate calculation, content management, and payment.
How does storify.me innovate?
Stefan Lim: Finding new and simpler ways to manage content assets for marketing is an ongoing activity, 24/7. We use technology to digitalize and automate. Our technology team sits with the product name to continuously understand what our clients need and how they go about doing their work. We use technology to multiply better outcomes consistently.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Stefan Lim: We’re alright with new businesses, but it could have been better. We try and improve our digital outreach with prospective clients so that we can cover more ground.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Stefan Lim: We scaled back on some costs and have been more cautious about hiring and expanding the team. Given the less predictable outlook, I would say we have learned to think harder, take calculated risks, and make more informed decisions.
What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to navigate this crisis?
Stefan Lim: We are a platform that supports the geek economy ourselves, using technology to facilitate the work between marketers and independent content creators. So yes, we have been scaling up the proliferation of our platform and also a host of other internal communication tools.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Stefan Lim: We operate on a slightly different model from our competitors. Our platform injects creativity, provides complete control and ensures high-quality outcomes apart. This creates stand-out campaigns and sets us apart.
