AI – a Shift Like When Electricity Replaced the Steam Engine! Says Sten Forseke, Founder Greater Than

Sten Forseke, Founder, Greater Than tells us about e-traveling during the health crisis.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Sten Forseke: Luckily, we are all doing just fine. Mom and I contracted C-19 but came through it without harm. Apart from that, I enjoy less air traveling and more e-traveling.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Greater Than.
Sten Forseke: Been spending the better part of my years in automotive; I have always been passionate about the combination of tech and “do good solutions.” After being deep into telematics and driver scoring, I had the vision to develop tech, understanding the correlation between driver behaviour and road accident. To do just that, I understood I would have to leave the ingrained telematics tracks of monitoring driving events such as speeding and harsh braking. After meeting with the best data analytics brain in the whole world, that particular person and I decided to establish GT – and here we are, 18 years later – providing AI that understands motor risk better than anyone else on this globe.
How does Greater Than innovate?
Sten Forseke: We are never happy with what’s been accomplished and never happy with “as is” – we never settle for anything and always strive for better solutions…
How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances?
Sten Forseke: Short-term, negatively, medium-term very positively as C-19 uncovered the unfairness of paying for something you don’t use. Car standing in the garage, but you still have to pay the full annual premium, no matter…
Did you have to make difficult choices regarding human resources, and what are the lessons learned?
Sten Forseke: No.
How did your customer relationship management evolve? Do you use any specific tools to be efficient?
Sten Forseke: We do more and better meetings with the help of Teams and Zoom.
Did you benefit from any government grants, and did that help keep your business afloat?
Sten Forseke: No.
Your final thoughts?
Sten Forseke: The insurance industry is slow-moving, but the insurance market is fast-moving….
