Innovative Approaches to the Future of Work in a Post-Pandemic Climate

We talked to Anthony H. Staten, Managing Director at TechLink Health, about the online healthcare communication channel and this is what he said about it. 

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?

Anthony H. Staten: All is well, thankfully, everyone is staying safe and healthy!

Tell us about you, your career, and how you founded TechLink Health.

Anthony H. Staten: Our leadership team has deep expertise within the financial services, healthcare, and management consulting industries, which includes the leadership of strategic initiatives for a variety of global entities. This is a core strength for our team and plays well to our applications. 

I have a background within the Financial Services and Management Consulting industries, mostly focused on creating value and delivering progressive strategies, achieved by leveraging skills in strategic consulting, product development, project management, financial analysis, and operational leadership.

Dr. Rodney Samaan, our Chief Medical Officer, is a practicing cardiologist with interests and expertise in technologies that are disrupting the analog healthcare system. He is specialized in echocardiography, nuclear medicine, pediatrics, public health, epidemiology, weight loss, healthy aging, nutrition, and preventive cardiology. 

Additionally, he is a thought leader in the digital health space and advisor to a variety of healthtech startups. 

Our applications were developed from these experiences within the management consulting and healthcare industries and the recognition of the need to create innovative solutions to address a number of challenges, particularly related to the future of work and ability to build digital ecosystems that help create valuable connections. 

How does TechLink Health innovate?

Anthony H. Staten: Our company is helping to shape the future of work through our curated insights and advisory applications.

TechLink Health is a digital healthcare advisory platform for consumers and organizations to connect with physician advisors and healthcare experts for telehealth, e-consults, and advisory services. We see great potential in the solution as a path to healthier outcomes by focusing on accessibility to data, insights, and expertise. 

TechLink Insights is a curated media and consulting marketplace app for business professionals to consume insights, socialize, and access advisory opportunities. Corporate executives and independent consultants use TechLink Insights to get business-focused content, build new relationships, monetize expertise, or get strategic advice. The solution plays well to independent professionals or those in transition. 

Our vision is to offer solutions to optimize accessibility for independent professionals that are connecting with consumers and organizations. For healthcare, this has been of particular interest as we look toward a future where practitioners are balancing both clinical and non-clinical types of work while seeking new ways to engage with an emerging digital value chain. This also creates new opportunities for consumers to access insights to help manage and better understand certain conditions. 

How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances?

Anthony H. Staten: During the pandemic, our startup has definitely been impacted, as have many businesses across the world. With that being said, there’s been an emergence of new opportunities to help solve problems and shape the future of industry in a post-pandemic operating environment.

Did you have to make difficult choices regarding human resources and what are the lessons learned?

Anthony H. Staten: Being a startup, our business is operating with a smaller team, so there wasn’t any difficult choices in this regard, however, it has provoked a revived focus on human resources, with a particular interest in talent optimization. Early in the pandemic, we aligned with the Predictive Index as a certified partner to help clients optimize talent strategy during the pandemic and as they prepare for the future.

How did your customer relationship management evolve? Do you use any specific tools to be efficient?

Anthony H. Staten: In late 2019, we founded our healthcare advisory app, TechLink Health, which was initially focused on digital accessibility among healthcare practitioners, mostly peer-to-peer or connecting with startups and corporate partners, such as biopharmas. Since our technology was already built around virtual consults, we also opened up access to consumer use cases such as telehealth or second opinion consults. From an advisory standpoint, there was an effort to enhance solutions partnerships to add more value to both users of the platform and potential clients. This can be seen through partnerships with the Innovation360 Group, which is focused on innovation management and strategy, and the Predictive Index, which is aligned to talent strategy and optimization.

Additionally, to help amplify various perspectives within the digital health and wellness space, we introduced a podcast series, The TechLink Health Podcast.

Our applications at the core are an extension of thought content and the social aspects that allow people to engage. 

Did you benefit from any government grants, and did that help keep your business afloat?

Anthony H. Staten: From a funding perspective, we are in the process of engaging with strategic investors at the seed stage to enable scalable growth and the execution of our strategic roadmap.

Anthony H. Staten: As companies and startups start to work through a post-pandemic operating environment, there will be great potential in the power of continued innovation and collaborative efforts to solve the problems of the future. We believe that our solutions align with these efforts and are well-positioned to help.
