What is Testogen?

Testogen is a dietary supplement manufactured by Muscle Club, one of the famous supplement brands in the fitness industry.

It is made to help boost the production of testosterone in men of any adult age who are experiencing symptoms of testosterone deficiency, and also to improve energy levels, sex drive, and muscle mass.

Testosterone is a sex hormone secreted in the testis -a male reproductive organ, which regulates your sex drive, bone mass, muscle mass, sexual development, sperm production, and fat distribution. Females also secrete testosterone, but only in a small amount.

A 2008 research showed that about 50% of men who are over 80 have decreased testosterone levels, due to a condition known as hypogonadism or ‘Low T’.

Hypogonadism or Low T is a condition that results from insufficient production of testosterone in the testis, and this could cause erectile dysfunction, extreme fatigue, insomnia, low energy levels, and low sex drive.

Over the years, different treatments have been developed to help with this condition, and recently, one of the most popular treatments is the use of Testogen.

If you’re having trouble losing weight or reducing your belly fat, Testogen is also known to help in weight loss. Testogen is available in capsule forms and contains eleven natural active ingredients that are clinically proven to safely and effectively support testosterone production, and provide other health benefits.

How Does Testogen Work?

Several steps are involved in the production of testosterone in the body. First, the pituitary gland sends a signal to the testicles through another hormone called Luteinizing hormone (LH). The Leydig cells in the testicles are responsible for producing testosterone, so when the LH sends the signal from the pituitary gland to these cells, testosterone is produced.

Testogen works by stimulating your body to produce more testosterone. To understand how it does this, let’s consider the role of each of the eleven active ingredients in the process of testosterone production.

D-aspartic acid: This is an amino acid that promotes the production of LH, which we’ve seen is necessary for testosterone production because, without LH to send the signal to the testis, there’ll be no production.

Now, the manufacturers of Testogen are aware that increasing the levels of LH will lead to an increase in the production of testosterone, so in making the supplement, they put in about 2352 mg of D-aspartic acid, which is more compared to other testosterone supplements.

Bioperine: The role of this ingredient in Testogen is to make every other ingredient bioavailable and easily absorbed by the body, this way, the potency of Testogen is assured.

Boron: Low testosterone levels could be due to a hormone called SHBG. This hormone binds with free testosterone in your body and makes them inactive, resulting in decreased testosterone levels.

To prevent this, Boron is added to Testogen to bind with SHBG, thereby breaking off the bond between the hormone and testosterone, making testosterone active again and leading to an increased level of free testosterone.

Boron also helps with the absorption of some of the other ingredients such as magnesium and vitamin D3.

Fenugreek: SHBG is not the only thing in your body that could bind to free testosterone, some enzymes in the body could bind to free testosterone, resulting in the conversion of testosterone to estrogen –primarily a female reproductive hormone, and a decrease in your testosterone levels.

However, it has been scientifically confirmed that fenugreek contains compounds that can stop this conversion process by binding themselves to these enzymes and so improve your testosterone levels.

Korean Red Ginseng: Ginseng is an ancient, but popular medicine that has been used to treat so many ailments. Scientists have discovered a compound –ginsenoside, in ginseng, which is believed to have many health benefits, including increasing the levels of testosterone and sex drive in men.

Magnesium: This is one of the most essential minerals in the body as it helps fight depression, lower blood pressure, and other health benefits, but sometimes people don’t get enough magnesium from their diets, and in the case of men, elderly men especially, they fall at risk of having low testosterone levels.

Testogen contains 200 mg of magnesium per dose, enough to improve your testosterone levels.

Nettle Leaf Extract: The extract contains a compound called ligans which acts in the same way as boron to improve testosterone levels, that is it binds to the hormone SHBG to prevent it from binding to testosterone. It also acts like fenugreek by binding to enzymes that cause the conversion of testosterone to estrogen, to prevent the conversion.

Vitamin B6: Studies have shown that deficiency of Vitamin B complexes such as Vitamin B6, is closely associated with low levels of testosterone, and increased levels of estrogen. So, the manufacturers of Testogen figured the reverse should be the case, plus, elderly people should get regular doses of Vitamin B complex for their general well-being.

Vitamin D3:  Just as in the case of Vitamin B6, scientists have found that people who have low amounts of Vitamin D3 have low testosterone levels also, and vice versa. The Vitamin D3 in Testogen is in the form of cholecalciferol, which is the best form of Vitamin D3.

Vitamin K1: A combination of Vitamin K1, and Magnesium enhances the effect of Vitamin D3.

Zinc: Like boron, zinc is an essential trace mineral, and it has been found that it is associated with the production of testosterone, as it acts as an antioxidant protecting the Leydig cells in the testis from damage that can be caused by free radicals.

But since we don’t get enough zinc from our diets, these cells are at risk, so the manufacturers of Testogen used zinc citrate specifically in making the supplement. Zinc citrate is a form of zinc that is easily absorbed by the body.

Now we’ve seen that every decision made by the manufacturers of Testogen on their choice of ingredients, was carefully thought through to ensure not just the safety, but also the efficiency of the supplement.

Benefits of Using Testogen

Aside from boosting testosterone levels, there are other interesting benefits of taking Testogen, including:

Are There Any Side Effects Of Using Testogen?

The ingredients used in making Testogen are not only natural, but also generally recognized to be safe by the FDA, so there are no side effects linked to the supplement.

However, if you’re allergic to any of the ingredients, both active and inactive, you may have allergic reactions such as feelings of nausea and vomiting.

Also, if ginseng is taken in high amounts it could cause headaches, loss of appetite, and poor sleep quality, but there’s only about 40 mg of ginseng in Testogen, so you should be alright.

Nevertheless, let your doctor know you’re taking Testogen before starting any medication as some of the ingredients may interact with your drugs. For instance, zinc can interact with antibiotics.

What is The Price of Testogen?

A bottle of Testogen which has 120 capsules is sold at $59.99, but you could get a discount if you buy from the company’s website, and free shipping, no matter where you stay.
