Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Guide
Tim Salau: One of the leading thought leaders in the future of work. We built our company from the ground-up after leaving Microsoft. I have worked with Microsoft, Facebook, LinkedIn, and WeWork. I met my co-founder in November 2018, and we decided to start a company together in March 2019th. We are now one of the hottest Future of Work companies in the world.
How does Guide innovate?
Tim Salau: We offer bite-size training for remote teams. We are one of the leading Future of Work companies in the world. We are disrupting how companies train their remote workers.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Tim Salau: It was a positive for our business. It expanded our global market tenfold.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Tim Salau: We pivoted our business to focus on enterprise remote teams. Three key lessons that we learned are:
· Focus on serving your customers, and everything else will follow.
· Listen to customers; they will always guide you down the right path.
· In times of hardship, the best teams band together and pivot to where the market is going, not where it is.
How do you deal with stress and anxiety? How do you project yourself and Guide in the future?
Tim Salau: By drinking a lot of tea and reading books. It soothes my mind and keeps my brain cognitively functioning at a high-level.
I project myself and my company into the future by talking with experts who are leading and building the future. In addition, we enforce an always be learning mindset here at Guide.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Tim Salau: Our biggest competition is the traditional education system. Aside from that, the other market players who serve a similar customer demographic to us are LinkedIn Learning, Skillshare, Coursera, and Udemy. We believe they each are amazing platforms, and we are grateful to be in a growing and large market with them.
Your final thoughts
Tim Salau: Thank you for this opportunity.
