Tuğberk Süslü, senior partner and chief digital officer, at kooplog tells us about modern-day blogs.

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?

Tuğberk Süslü: We are trying to focus on the positive aspects of this tough time.  Luckily, my family members are all in good health.

Tell us about you, your career, and how you joined kooplog.

Tuğberk Süslü: I studied at Middle East Technical University and Bahcesehir University. I’ve been blogging for many years and wanted to run my own business. kooplog helped me to solve this problem and broaden my horizon in many ways. I decided to join the kooplog family in 2018 as a CDO and senior partner.

How does kooplog innovate?

Tuğberk Süslü: We prioritize user experience over website traffic. That’s why it has been of utmost importance for us to help guide our users throughout their entire blogging journey with new tools and developments that will make their lives easier and our product easier to use, such as the blog idea generator tool that we’ve recently developed in the first quarter of 2021.

We also have new things in development and hope to announce them soon. An initial release of a kooplog mobile app is also part of our plans for this year.

How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances?

Tuğberk Süslü: People had more time to spend practicing their hobbies, which for a lot of people is writing or blogging. Pandemic had a positive effect on the number of users of kooplog, but it also obviously had a bad impact on the finances of our business, as is the case with many others around the world.

Did you have to make difficult choices regarding human resources, and what are the lessons learned?

Tuğberk Süslü: Since we’re a startup with a limited number of employees, we outsource a lot of our work in different departments, most of them for development. So I guess there’s not a lot of hard choices when it comes to human resources.

How did your customer relationship management evolve? Do you use any specific tools to be efficient?

Tuğberk Süslü: Since we’re a startup with a limited number of employees, we outsource a lot of our work in different departments, most of them for development. So I guess there’s not a lot of hard choices when it comes to human resources.

Did you benefit from any government grants, and did that help keep your business afloat?

Tuğberk Süslü: No, we did not receive any grants from the government.

Your final thoughts?

Tuğberk Süslü: We believe writing is a need. According to researches, we’ve made and trends in kooplog, we foresee that blogging has never been outdated, and it will never be. That’s why we aim to make kooplog a user-friendly platform where users focus on just writing and reading.
