Valentin Bolboacă of Klain about digital marketing and opportunities during the Covid-19 pandemic.

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?

Valentin Bolboacă: In the beginning, COVID 19 brought a lot of uncertainty about what was about to happen. After a short time, I started to discover the benefits it offers. I spend more time at home with my family, work from home regularly and make sure I comply with the health safety measures required by the authorities to protect against COVID 19 illness.

Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Klain.

Valentin Bolboacă: I discovered the power of online presence for a business in 2005, when I decided to open my own company and build a team. This is how the Klain company was born. We developed projects on the local market for a while, and around the year 2010, we positioned ourselves as a full digital agency after learning the techniques of online marketing in our projects.

This is how we came to deliver complete online communication services for small and medium companies in the local market and those operating on the regional market.

How does Klain innovate?

Valentin Bolboacă: The innovation for us lies in the process we go through with all of the projects, from an initial marketing audit to the communication strategy and later to the effective implementation. We monitor our actions to ensure that we generate business for our customers with their online presence.

How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances?

Valentin Bolboacă: During the lockdown period, we were taken by surprise, but it only lasted 2 months, during which we optimized the way we work and came up with new digital approaches and solutions for our clients.

Did you have to make difficult choices regarding human resources, and what are the lessons learned?

Valentin Bolboacă: I had the support and understanding of the team for the period I went through. Together with them, we managed to recover relatively quickly and enter an ascending slope.

The most important thing I have learned is that relationships based on trust (employees or customers) are what help you get through difficult times.

How did your customer relationship management evolve? Do you use any specific tools to be efficient?

Valentin Bolboacă: We had a proactive approach that our clients appreciated because we came up with solutions adapted to their new needs. We have a clear process through which we carry out our activity and tools for optimization and automation of daily activity, which we constantly improve.

Online presence has become a necessity for many of the traditional industries, which has helped those in digital, but especially those who have experience and know-how to achieve effective communication in the online environment.

Did you benefit from any government grants, and did that help keep your business afloat?

Valentin Bolboacă: No

Your final thoughts?

Valentin Bolboacă: This pandemic has helped us see what really matters to each one of us, in the family and our careers.

I expect the next few years to come with accelerating changes for companies. We, people of digital and entrepreneurs, will have to keep up with these changes to become a wiser and better version of ourselves every day.
