Veekshith Rai, the founder of Finly, tells us about reducing business expenditures through effective accounting.

First of all, how are you, your family & colleagues doing in these COVID-19 times?

Veekshith Rai: All of us are fortunate and grateful to have the luxury to work from home. We have been safe and fine and with all services going digital there are very few instances where we need to step out of the house. All of our employees have been asked to work from home till they are all vaccinated and safe to return to work.

Tell us about you, your career, and how you founded Finly.

Veekshith Rai: I founded this company in 2017. We brainstormed and ran through intensive market research on what product needs to be built before starting the company. We came up with five problems that we wanted to solve using SaaS & Technology and we picked one.

How does Finly innovate?

Veekshith Rai: We use a concept known as Wardley maps. It helps us understand what our customers are looking for and we work backwards from there to innovate on our products & processes.

How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business and how are you coping?

Veekshith Rai: Since the pandemic, we’ve gone completely remote. We’ve helped our customers in running their finance operations remotely without having to travel to the office. We’ve also designed products that help finance teams recognize cost-saving opportunities & have assisted them in strategically achieving their cost-saving goals.

What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to navigate this crisis?

Veekshith Rai: Since the pandemic, we’ve strengthened our L&D systems which are ensuring anyone who joins the organization becomes highly productive within a short span of time. We’ve strengthened processes by digitizing all our operations across all departments with technology.

Your final thoughts?

Veekshith Rai: Finance & Procurement teams are rapidly adopting technology to enable easier collaboration under current circumstances wherein all organizations are going remote or a hybrid version of the same. We are committed to enabling finance & purchasing teams with the latest technology which can enable them to gain visibility & control while increasing productivity.
