Vidyashankar J, CEO at 1CloudHub speaks to us on how to go far with cloud, data and AI.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Vidyashankar J: It has been a rollercoaster for the past year. As soon as the pandemic started, the initial reaction was to ensure both family and our colleagues are safely back in their homes, and the priority was to ensure safety. Over time, we have adjusted to the new normal, and the family was able to get back to balancing the work/education commitments.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded 1cloudhub.
Vidyashankar J: A career spanning nearly 3 decades in Enterprise IT, Top SI’s, Product Companies, CIO Advisory Services, and Building/Scaling businesses as an entrepreneur. I have honed leadership skills with stints in Global Geo’s @ Philips, Global Foundries, CSS Corp, Lotus Development Corp, and IBM.
The desire to differentiate cloud offerings with an IP-driven accelerator and focus on SAP, Data & AI led me to the reins and drive the vision for 1CloudHub.

How does 1cloudhub innovate?
Vidyashankar J: We are in the cutting-edge technology arena, and our customers expect faster outcomes from our technology solutions. This gives the impetus for us to build innovative IPs and platforms for accelerated value.

How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances?
Vidyashankar J: The new normal is challenging our entire ecosystem characterized by uncertainty and complexity, especially the business finances. The AMJ 2020 was particularly challenging. Yet, our team kept the cog turning to support and grow our client’s business and their operations.
Did you have to make difficult choices regarding human resources, and what are the lessons learned?
Vidyashankar J: Our clientele includes Logistics, Media & Healthcare enterprise customers and these industries are at the forefront in ensuring the pandemic is being kept under control. We are focused on ensuring business continuity for our customers, and subsequently, we had to scale our team to meet the demands. It was a much-needed choice than a difficult choice.

How did your customer relationship management evolve? Do you use any specific tools to be efficient?
Vidyashankar J: It was challenging to sustain the quality of service during the pandemic. We announced the measures we had taken as part of our BCP to our clients and how we will be interacting with them to deliver uninterrupted services. Microsoft Teams was extensively used to ensure we are connected in lieu of in-person meetings.
Did you benefit from any government grants, and did that help keep your business afloat?
Vidyashankar J: We did benefit from the grants given by the government, especially during the complete lockdown.
Your final thoughts?
Vidyashankar J: With our strategic partner, Nityo Infotech Corporation, a global provider of IT services across 34 countries, we are taking our AI, Data & Cloud Capabilities to boost the growth of our client businesses worldwide with services currently extending to India, APAC, ANZ, US and soon entering Europe and the Middle East.
