Vitaliy Galushka, CEO at API2Cart tells us about the integration of eCommerce platforms.

Short info about API2Cart.

Vitaliy Galushka: API2Cart provides a unified API that allows eCommerce software providers to integrate their solutions with more than 40+ shopping platforms and marketplaces at once easily, fast, and without spending a great sum of money.

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?

Vitaliy Galushka: At first, we were a little bit confused. The new situation in the world caused the need to change our lifestyles, became more flexible, and ready for any unpredictable market situations. However, we quickly got used to the new reality and didn’t stop working even at the COVID-19 peak period.

Tell us about you, your career, and how you joined API2Cart.

Vitaliy Galushka: At the beginning of my career, I worked as an IT specialist and Web Developer. I was always passionate about new technology, developing successful software, and improving my knowledge in different branches of the IT sector.

After a while, I started to think that I can be useful, not only as a tech specialist but also as a person who can take control over the various managing operations. I took many courses that helped me get in-depth knowledge related to the effective management of companies. API2Cart became a place where I could share my fourteen years of software development experience with the other specialists and realize all my potential as a CEO.

I joined this company two years ago. I was really impressed by the uniqueness of the API2Cart — this a product made by developers for developers who work in the eCommerce sphere. It is technically complex, but it helps its clients a lot. With the help of API2Cart, eCommerce software systems can be connected with dozens of shopping platforms like Magento, Shopify, WooCommerce, extremely fast and easily. Nowadays, there are no similar solutions on the market.

How does API2Cart innovate?

Vitaliy Galushka:  We never stop improving our service, and we always take into consideration our clients’ needs. We continuously expand the number of supported shopping platforms and marketplaces. For example, for the previous few months, we added CommerceHQ, Hybris, and Lightspeed to the list of the platforms that our clients can develop the integration with using API2Cart.

Also, recently we’ve launched the API2Cart Enterprise On-Premise solution. It is a perfect option for high-volume B2B software vendors. Enterprise On-Premise solution allows companies to fully control the integration process and manage their API2Cart server infrastructure by using the functionality provided by Amazon Web Service (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, make all requests over HTTPS protocol, supervise all connections with their clients via their software and use a unique key to get necessary store data.

How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business and how are you coping?

Vitaliy Galushka: We started to work remotely. At first, it was not so easy to get used to the communications online. It was probably our main challenge at the beginning of quarantine. Working at an office, we could discuss the various questions more quickly at any time. However, now we are more concentrated on doing our job more effectively and follow our strategic plan with no delays and issues.

Did you have to make difficult choices and what are the lessons learned?

Vitaliy Galushka: I think that we got a fantastic opportunity to work effectively despite any unpredictable moments. We became more flexible. During the lockdown peak, we even could expand the number of our clients and team members. Luckily, we operate in the eCommerce sphere. And, as you know, it is on the rise now. So, the COVID-19 brought us not only difficulties but also excellent opportunities.

What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to navigate this crisis?

Vitaliy Galushka: Luckily, there are a significant number of tools that help our team members to work effectively, even from home. We use time tracker solutions that enable us to be more productive and goal-oriented. Also, we use various video conferencing services that allow us to communicate with each other and our clients regularly.

Moreover, we had to use different team management approaches during the period of the adaptation to the remote work. We needed to make changes to reporting activity that helped us communicate better, and now every team member can be aware of the company’s current affairs, even staying at home.

Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?

Vitaliy Galushka: As I have mentioned above, right now, API2Cart has no direct competitors. There are a few services that also propose the integration with shopping platforms. However, some of them are limited to integration with just a few eCommerce platforms. They can only partially solve the users’ problems, while API2Cart allows its clients to connect with over 40 popular shopping platforms and marketplaces at once.

Right now, our strategy is to improve our functionality, increase the number of supported platforms and expand our market share.

Your final thoughts?

Vitaliy Galushka: Be positive and use the best that is offered by the new market conditions. Keep safe!
