First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Zhuang Yun Hao: We live in Taiwan, and Taiwan’s epidemic prevention results are quite excellent, and our lives have hardly been affected.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded 1on1.
Zhuang Yun Hao: I am the CEO of 1on1.
I am a serial entrepreneur and have successfully sold four companies before. This is already my sixth entrepreneurial project.
How does 1on1 innovate?
Zhuang Yun Hao: 1on1 is a global tutor sharing resource platform.
People can find tutors, tutor jobs, and suitable venues and spaces for teaching on our platform.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Zhuang Yun Hao: Our main customers are owners of cafes, gyms, yoga classrooms, and other spaces and venues from all over the world.
Because of this epidemic, many stores cannot continue to operate, making our marketing more difficult.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Zhuang Yun Hao: The company’s operations need to develop in many ways and continue developing different business models and sources of income to maintain stable operation in times of difficulty.
How do you deal with stress and anxiety? How do you project yourself and 1on1 in the future?
Zhuang Yun Hao: Keep calm and focus on work. Resolute decision-making ability and cooperation with an excellent team, I believe that is the most important direction of a company.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Zhuang Yun Hao: There are many tutoring platforms like ours, but our business model and goals are different.
We hope that what 1on1 can provide in the future is a completely free resource platform, which means that our revenue does not come from users, but advertisers, so it is quite different from other platforms.
Your final thoughts?
Zhuang Yun Hao: There will always be a day after the epidemic, everything will return to the essence, focus on your own field, and persistence will lead to success.
