We talked to Zoltán Havasi of MOHAnet about innovating IP based mobile telemetric systems and services, and he had the following to say:-
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Zoltán Havasi: We have an opportunity to become better parents and finally give more attention to our kids as much as they really deserve.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded MOHAnet.
Zoltán Havasi: The company is based on my dissertation, which aim was to innovate IP based mobile telemetric systems and services and also to make Hungarian products more popular.
My innovating work has gained very serious trade successes. This innovation has won “THE SAFETY TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION OF THE YEAR” in 2005 and 2006, which the Detector Plus wealth protection trade magazine handed over on the profession’s bests tender.
How does MOHAnet innovate?
Zoltán Havasi: We swore that a face-to-face meeting was much more effective in business. We could not have imagined that online meetings will be good as well or even better. Due to this, we had to adapt to the pandemic situation and held online presentations as well.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Zoltán Havasi: To be honest, few partners canceled their subscription, but at the same time, we found new possibilities in the health sector due to the pandemic. We are so lucky because our company has a subscription-based business model, which has been supported us to be alive during the coronavirus.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Zoltán Havasi: First of all, we reduced the office rental costs due to the home office. Beyond this, we have not dismiss anybody, what we are proud of. I think that nothing is more important than health and well-being.
How do you deal with stress and anxiety?
Zoltán Havasi: It is very important for me to see my team happy. We rearranged the office together as a teambuilding event. We also participated in a health-preserving treatment together. The annual Christmas party is not to be missed either (because we are a small company).
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Zoltán Havasi: Several IoT developers are working on our market; however, the innovation could differentiate from each other. We plan to develop our products and related value-added services further.
