10 Days of Intense Acceleration Supported By Taiwan’s Key Players in Global Supply Chain Draws All-Star Global Startup landing in Taiwan

Garage+, Asia’s largest non-equity incubator, has selected 24 startups from worldwide to participate in the Startup Global Program 2022 in Taiwan: 10 days of international exhibition, 1-on-1 meetings with high-level corporate executives, and exhibit at InnoVex this year in Taiwan. To enhance the international reputation of Taiwan’s entrepreneurship and innovation, the National Development Council and Garage+ together launched the Startup Global Program and invited international startups to Taiwan. The selected startups will be able to connect with Taiwan’s solid industrial resources and will also be exposed to other Asian markets in hope of bringing more vitality to the global supply chain.
For the 2022 program, 308 startups from 37 countries had applied for the opportunity.
The selected startups are from Canada, the US, Israel, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, and Taiwan. They specialize in AI & Data Analytics, IoT & Smart devices, Digital Health, 5G Technology, Robotics, Smart Energy, and Smart Transportation.
The pivotal benefit of the 10-day Startup Global Program in Taiwan is that it provides overseas and local startups with more than 150 1-on-1 meetings with high-level decision-makers from the leading companies to effectively discover business partners, investors, and markets. Taiwan has
long been recognized as a key player in the global supply chain, with solid global business capabilities. The startups get access to Taiwan’s complete and compact technology ecosystem. Some of the companies meeting the startups include Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Quanta Computer Inc., Delta Electronics Inc., Wistron Corp., Advantech Corp., MediaTek Inc., Foxconn Technology Corp., and many investors.

Garage has connections with + 80 mentors and has connected startups with over 30 leading companies in Taiwan. A whopping 75% of participating startups have raised funding. The alumni greatly recognized Taiwan companies’ high efficiency in decision making and taking action to generously support startups with incredibly flexible capabilities in technology application and prototyping. From previous programs since 2015, one-third of the selected startups have gone on to develop and establish ties with Taiwan’s leading manufacturers.
Qnext, a Canadian company whose app turns all company storage into a secure private cloud, obtained an order of USD7.2 million from Japan while exhibiting at Computex Expo arranged by the Garage+ and is establishing collaborative ties with several Taiwan corporations. Sorama from the Netherlands whose product detects and monitors vibrations to improve the overall sound design of products and environments has been collaborating with Taiwan corporations and returned to Taipei for the Smart City Expo.
ImmerVision from Canada successfully commercialized over six months a 360-degree panorama camera, Pi Solo, with Quanta Computer, the world’s largest notebook computer ODM corporation, and shipped out Pi Solos after exceeding its goal on the Japanese crowdfunding platform Makuake in December 2016 thereby moving straight into mass production.
Pick Up, Hong Kong logistics tech startup completed Series A+ funding co-led by Taiwan E-commerce giant PChome online Inc., Cathay Venture Inc., and DRIVE Catalyst (the corporate venture arm of Far Eastern Group)Ventures, accumulated funds reached USD$15M.
