The daily work of a blogger is extremely varied and versatile. He continuously finds new topics, researches them, implements them and also provides the necessary promotion.

Even today, many people assume that the work as a blogger is quite relaxed – however, this is hardly true in reality. It is not only necessary to regularly publish interesting and creative new postings, but also to skillfully use social media, find suitable collaborations and create effective promotional activities. In addition, of course, some personal skills and knowledge are necessary to successfully earn money as a blogger. Only a talent for writing is usually not enough.

The following article shows which requirements should basically be met in order to master the step into self-employment as a blogger.

The first steps

At the beginning, of course, it is necessary to decide on a specific subject area about which to blog in the future. Ideally, this should be a niche that is still unoccupied – then it can quickly become a successful unique selling point. In addition, it is of course important that the blogger also has the appropriate expertise in the chosen subject area in order to assert his expert status over time. Aussiedlerbote, for example, is a good example of this.

For success as a blogger, it is crucial that readers build trust. However, this is only possible if the blogger shows himself to be credible and authentic. If the topics and contributions are insufficiently researched, this is hardly possible. The respective content must stand out for its high quality at all times.

Another success criterion is regular publications – for professional bloggers, one post per week is definitely not enough when it comes to generating the highest possible traffic.

The preparation of the business plan

When starting a business, it is impossible to do without a solid business plan – and self-employment as a blogger is no exception. Of course, you can start by building a website and compiling initial content. Nevertheless, all start-ups need answers to the typical questions that arise in the course of a foundation.

Among other things, they must be able to answer questions such as what their USP is, how they want to earn money with their blog, how they can find new readers, and how high the traffic on the blog needs to be in order to actually be able to live off the earnings. In addition, however, it is also necessary to deal with the tax regulations, and the requirements for a legally compliant imprint must also be observed.

Establish a strong profile

Bloggers can only be successful with their professional activities if they reach a large number of readers and always present themselves convincingly, authentically and in line with the spirit of the times.

The most important prerequisite for this is that one’s own topic is clearly delimited. Only in this way can it be presented credibly and provide readers with real added value. To find inspiration for your own specialization as a blogger, it can also be useful to study international blogs – you may discover a format that can be successfully adapted here.
