How to make your Facebook business page better

All top businesses around the world should have a Facebook page. In fact, once your business has officially been registered, creating a Facebook page should be one of the first things that you do. Using all social media is a great way of engaging with existing customers but more importantly, it’s an excellent way of bringing in new customers on board.

If you already have a Facebook business page or if you are in the process of building one then the following tips will help you to make it as optimal as possible.

How to make your Facebook business page better – Six tips

Develop the About section

The ‘About’ section on your Facebook business page is the quickest way to tell potential customers what your business is all about. It’s the first place that people are going to look when searching for more information about your company, so it’s vital to get it right.

Use a tagline, incorporate a call to action, and insert a link to your website. Don’t waffle on but also don’t be too generic. Customers need to see why your company stands out from the crowd.

Make it visually appealing

A text-heavy Facebook page isn’t going to be very appealing to new and existing customers. If your page isn’t visually appealing then they are far more likely to simply click away and go elsewhere.

Therefore, make sure you have a bright and engaging profile and cover photo as an absolute minimum. Beyond that, try and include images and/or videos on each of your posts. Interactive graphics are also a great way to improve the aesthetics of your page.

Add a contact form

Regardless of how much information you provide on your Facebook page, there are always going to be people who want to find out something specific about your business and your services. A contact form is a great (and professional) way of providing potential customers to get in touch with you, whether that be to ask questions or provide feedback.

Contact forms can be created very easily directly through Facebook (www.facebook.com/contact.form). Once created, simply select ‘use now’ and you will be good to go.

Stay relevant

When posting on your Facebook Business page, don’t fall into the trap of just jumping on trends to try and farm engagement and interactions. While this might be worthwhile doing if the trend is relevant to your business, if it isn’t then it’s just going to confuse your audience and put them off.

Generally, try and keep all of your posts relevant to your business model and make each one informative. Professionalism is key at all times.

Invest in Facebook ads

If you can grow your audience on Facebook without spending a penny then best of luck to you. To do this, you will need to be really smart but mainly, REALLY lucky. The easiest and quickest way to get your business out there to wider audiences is to invest in Facebook ads.

These adverts will appear on people’s newsfeeds regardless of whether they have followed you on the platform or not. This means that more eyes will be on your brand than ever before. You will have to pay for each ad that you run and the more people you want to target the more it’s going to cost you. However, it will usually pay off – particularly if you hire a professional social media marketer to assist you with your ads.

Make it personal

There is no harm in showing your customers the personal side of your business, particularly if your startup is small. People are more likely to resonate and connect with businesses and people who are real rather than people who appear like robots.

Don’t be scared to produce more personal types of content such as behind closed doors insights or employee spotlights. These are great ways to help potential customers learn more about the people behind your brand.
