You have an old (or someone else’s) Apple ID logged into your iPhone and you want to delete it, but you don’t know its password? Don’t worry, in some cases it’s possible to remove an Apple ID from an iPhone without a password. This article will show you exactly how to do it.

Way 1: Remove Apple ID without password from App Store

You can do it without a password if all you want to do is remove your Apple ID from the App Store. The specific procedure will vary slightly depending on the iOS version.

On newer versions of iOS:

Step 1: Open the App Store from your iPhone’s home screen.

Step 2: Tap the portrait icon in the top right corner of the page.

Step 3: When you see the Apple ID at the top of the page, slide to the bottom and tap Sign Out, and the Apple ID will immediately sign out without requiring you to enter any password.

On older version of iOS:

Step 1: Open the Settings and then select iTunes & App Stores.

Step 2: Tap on the Apple ID and select Sign Out from the popup, and the Apple ID will log out immediately without requiring you to enter any password.

Way 2: Remove Apple ID without password using iSumsoft iLock Refixer

You are prompted for a password when you try to sign out of your Apple ID in iCloud Settings, but you don’t know the password? Worse, you can’t reset the Apple ID password or get in touch with the real owner of the Apple ID? Don’t worry, iSumsoft iLock Refixer can help you out in this situation.

iSumsoft iLock Refixer is a specialized iCloud removal tool that allows you to completely remove the Apple ID (or iCloud account) from your iPhone without a password. The tool works for any version of iOS, including the newer iOS 12/13/14/15. You need a PC and follow the steps below.

Step 1: Jailbreak your iPhone.

First, you need to jailbreak your iPhone. Be at ease, the jailbreak is only temporary and won’t affect the security of your device. If you’d like, you can uninstall the jailbreak by simply restarting your iPhone after the Apple ID has been removed.

Jailbreaking your iPhone from your computer is an easy and secure option. You can connect your iPhone to your computer via a Lightning-to-USB cable, and then proceed as directed below.

If you’re on a Mac, jailbreaking an iPhone is fairly easy. All you have to do is download the Checkran1n to your Mac, run the tool, and then follow the on-screen instructions to jailbreak your iPhone.

If you’re on a Windows PC, you need to jailbreak your iPhone with the help of a USB drive. Follow these steps or refer to this guide.

  • Insert a USB drive into your PC.
  • Install and run iSumsoft iLock Refixer on your PC.
  • On the software page, click Burn and then Start to create a jailbreak USB drive.
  • Boot your PC from the USB drive and follow the on-screen instructions to jailbreak your iPhone.

Step 2: Disconnect your iPhone from the network.

After jailbreaking your iPhone, you need to disconnect it from all networks, including Wi-Fi and cellular data. So, open Settings or Control Center to turn off both Wi-Fi and Cellular data.

Step 3: Remove Apple ID without password.

1: Connect your iPhone to your PC via a Lightning-to-USB cable, unlock your iPhone, and tap Trust if prompted.

2: Open iSumsoft iPhone Passcode Refixer, and on the home page of the software, select the Turn off FMI option.

3: On the next page, click Start, and the software will immediately detect your iPhone and begin turning off its Find My iPhone feature. This process does not require you to enter any passwords.

4: When the turning-off process is over, you need to check that the Find My iPhone feature on your iPhone is actually turned off before you can proceed with removing your Apple ID. A reliable way is to check the status of Find My iPhone online using your iPhone’s serial number. To do that, click the Copy button on the software page to copy your iPhone’s serial number, and then click the Query button to open an online query page.

5: On the web page that opens, paste your iPhone’s serial number and click the Query button. All of your iPhone’s basic information, including the Find My iPhone status, will be displayed on the page.

If the query results show that Find My iPhone is on, it indicates the software failed to turn it off due to a network issue or other reasons. But don’t worry; just make sure your iPhone has been jailbroken and disconnected from the network, and then restart iSumsoft iLock Refixer to try again.

If the query results show that Find My iPhone is off, proceed to the next step to remove your Apple ID without a password.

6: After you have confirmed that Find My iPhone is off, return to the software page, select OFF from the drop-down menu, and then click the Confirm button.

7: As soon as you click Confirm, the software immediately starts removing the Apple ID from your iPhone without requiring a password.

8: In a few minutes, you will receive a success message on the software page, which means that the Apple ID has been successfully removed. You can then continue to use your iPhone and set up iCloud with a new Apple ID without any problems.

Does factory reset remove Apple ID?

A factory reset is a common and effective fix for many iPhone issues. It erases all content and settings from the iPhone and installs the latest version of iOS. In theory, this would also delete all logged-in accounts, including the Apple ID. So, does a factory reset actually remove the Apple ID? It depends.

When Find My iPhone is turned off, a factory reset will definitely remove the Apple ID from your iPhone. In this case, however, removing the Apple ID doesn’t actually require a factory reset. That’s because when Find My iPhone is off, the iPhone allows you to sign out of your Apple ID from iCloud Settings without entering a password.

When Find My iPhone is on and you don’t know the Apple ID password, doing a factory reset won’t completely remove the Apple ID from your iPhone. This is because if you factory reset your iPhone without turning off Find My iPhone, the Activation Lock will be triggered. The Activation Lock asks for the Apple ID and password that were used on the iPhone before the factory reset. Without the Apple ID and password, you won’t be able to remove or bypass the Activation Lock, so your iPhone will be locked permanently.

Wrapping up

An Apple ID makes the iPhone easier to use. We use an Apple ID to log into various Apple services, such as iCloud, App Store, etc. But you are in trouble if you forget your Apple ID password. This is especially true if the iCloud Find My iPhone feature is enabled. Fortunately, iSumsoft iLock Refixer lets you remove the Apple ID from your iPhone without a password. The tool is safe and very effective, and works for iOS 10+. Just be aware that you’ll need to jailbreak your iPhone first.
