Serverspace review – everything you need to know about this IaaS platform
If you are a software developer or an IT business owner, you will at some point need to have your software applications hosted on a reliable cloud computing infrastructure. The key factors you need to consider while choosing an IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) platform include reliability, security, price, and performance. Serverspace is one of the few platforms that ticks all these boxes.
Serverspace has a robust cloud infrastructure that is reliable thanks to the cloud VPS servers that are fast and secure. So, all programs and apps hosted on this platform run smoothly and are accessible 99.99% of the time.
Main features of this Serverspace
Control panel
With the control panel, you can add services, monitor costs, and manage your IT infrastructure, all in one place. The user interface (UI) of the control panel is straightforward for even non-techy users.
Within the control panel, you can determine the operating system (OS) you want to use based on the kind of programs you intend to run on this platform.
The OS options that are currently available include; CentOS, FreeBSD, Debian, Ubuntu, and Windows. You will also have the option of choosing the version of any of these OSes that you want to use.
The control panel also has the option of choosing the datacenter based on the location. We recommend choosing one that is located closer to you.
Expandable and fast storage
With Serverspace, you won’t have to worry about storage space because they offer storage based on the size you need. The storage drives used by Serverspace are also fast, which is ideal for apps that involve streaming of high-resolution videos and other forms of media content.
On-demand Instances
You don’t need to pay subscription fees for a full month if you want to use Serverspace’s infrastructure for a couple of minutes or hours. You can choose to pay for every 10 minutes you use the infrastructure.
Pricing
1. Flexible plan (from €4/month or €0.006/hour)
With this package, the user can choose to configure the server’s hardware and software specifications based on the programs they intend to run. The base hardware features that cost €4/month are as follow; 1 core CPU, 1 GB RAM, 25Mbps, and 25GB SSD. The price for this package will slightly increase based on the hardware features you decide to scale up.
Users that choose to subscribe to this package have the option to choose the Operating system and the data center that they prefer using. Deploying a server after configuration takes an average of 40 seconds
2. Fixed plan (from €4/month and €0.006/hour)
With this package, the hardware features for each pricing category are predetermined. The base features for €4/month package are; 1 core CPU, 1 GB RAM, 50Mbps, and 25GB SSD. The highest possible hardware configuration includes; 8 cores CPU, 48GB RAM, 720GB SSD, and 50Mbps bandwidth. This kind of configuration costs €162.4/month or €0.226/hour.
The choice of the pricing plan to go with should largely depend on whether the predetermined hardware configurations under the fixed plan suit the kind of programs you intend to run on the servers. The flexible plan gives you the chance to customize the hardware configurations, but this comes at a slightly higher fee than the fixed plan.
