Ghost vehicle immobilisers are some of the most advanced on the market today. Available for motorists to install on any type of vehicle make and model, they are incredibly secure devices that take vehicle security to new heights. Using the latest technology to protect a vehicle from theft, many motorists have opted for the Ghost Immobiliser to provide extra peace of mind. However, many will still have their reservations. Since thieves have become much more intelligent, and gangs are able to bypass many of today’s modern technology, lots of motorists ask “Is it possible for a thief to disarm a Ghost Immobiliser?”.

The short answer to this question is simply, no. Thieves are not able to disarm a Ghost Immobiliser.

How advanced is a Ghost Immobiliser?

Since the Ghost Immobiliser makes no noise, nor does it emit any lights or radio frequencies, it is impossible for thieves to detect. It is also incredibly small and difficult to spot from its installation, hidden within the CANBUS wiring of your vehicle. With almost no way of detecting the presence of a Ghost Immobiliser, even the most tech-savvy and experienced thieves won’t be able to bypass the security this level of immobiliser offers.

Can a car be stolen with a Ghost Immobiliser installed?

The Ghost Immobiliser makes it impossible to start the ignition of a vehicle without input of the correct PIN sequence. As the owner of a vehicle, only you should know the sequence of your Ghost Immobiliser, ensuring no one else is able to access your vehicle. A vehicle would have to be manually moved by a machine or other vehicle in order to be stolen, if thieves were willing to take the chance, however this is certainly not likely. Plus, with additional security features such as an alarm or GPS tracking system, you would quickly be alerted to any movement of this kind.

Combining a Ghost Immobiliser with a vehicle tracker

For extra peace of mind, you can always opt to increase your vehicle security that one bit further, by installing a vehicle tracker. Many motorists, particularly those who have expensive models, choose to install a Ghost Immobiliser alongside an S7 GPS tracker. This provides the most advanced and technologically superior protection against theft. Since the immobiliser does not offer tracking features, adding a tracker like an S7 tracker ensures you always know where your vehicle is located 24/7. And you will be alerted to any suspicious vehicle activity instantly via your mobile device.

Both trackers and immobilisers are covertly installed into your vehicle, ensuring thieves are completely unaware of the systems working against them. Installing both together provides the very best protection and security you could ask for, for your vehicle.
