After graduating in 2004, Orkan became self-employed in 2009 and desired to become an entrepreneur, strengthening his business and technology skills.

Since then, he has gained extensive experience in the IT sector and services industry and is known for his expertise in operations management, product marketing, and leadership. Reflecting on his career, Arat would tell his younger self some key advice: first, to remind himself that everyone can learn from their experiences in life; second, to listen to his mentor and invest in Bitcoin when it first came about in 2010.

“It’s difficult to choose just one piece of advice, as there are countless lessons I’ve encountered over the years,” Arat shared during a recent interview. “I would stress that we learn from our experiences—falling, stumbling, and getting back up. “I have been fortunate enough to have traveled to countless countries and probably seen a little more than the average; however, I have been a minority all my life in every country I’ve ever lived in, including Turkey,” he said. “Today, I can’t show enough gratitude to be able to say that I am living in the USA as a minority. In my own little world, I am living the American Dream, which would not have been possible in any other country…Every country and person has a past, and sometimes, the past is not all glorious from today’s perspective, yet it has shaped who we are today. Our lives are not determined by what happens to us but by how we react to what happens. It’s not about what life brings us but by the attitude we bring to life.”
