subscriptions with a vpn

Billions of internet users access the internet every minute, with a large portion of them buying all sorts of things online across dozens of online platforms. Millions are also buying subscriptions to much-needed or very popular services, or both. Let’s be honest, in this day and age, it is nearly impossible to find someone that has never purchased anything online simply because of the ease with which that can be done and the availability of the internet in almost every corner of the world. Adding to that, shipping companies exist in almost every corner of the world.

To make things much more interesting, did you know that you can use a simple little tool that is freely available online to save money on all kinds of online purchases? It is understandable that this may sound like a trick or scam because the internet is full of awful trash like that, however, this on the other hand is a legitimate software used by millions of people all over the world to save money on all things online! How does this work? It is as simple and as intuitive as it gets, actually. There is a clever workaround thanks to the geniuses who created VPN software that can help you save money on many things such as subscriptions.

As far as subscriptions are concerned, more and more services are offering this business model where services and products are concerned. We are deep into the digital transformation and the digital age which means that everything we need to survive and entertain ourselves can be found online, in some shape or form. In fact, if there is not an online substitute for something in the real world, there will be one soon. At the end of the day, statistics tell all. For instance, by 2022, it is estimated that over 50% of all software revenue is going to be coming from a subscription model. Over 60% of publishers say that converting audiences into paying subscribers is key. Now, what is meant by a subscription exactly? A subscription is for an online service or platform in this case that offers a customer service or product in return for a monthly fee. This is also known as a recurring revenue model. There are various subscription models out there in various industries such as; digital streaming of video content, VPNs, the automobile industry, music services streaming, gaming services, internet service provider subscriptions, and much, much more. Any business with an online model would do good to offer some sort of recurring revenue model for their long-term finances.

This is where a VPN comes in, or Virtual Private Network cybersecurity and network security software. With a VPN, there are clever workarounds that allow you to flip the algorithms online that adjust prices and save money on online purchases and subscriptions with the click of a button (but don’t tell that company you are on a VPN because they want you to spend as much money as possible). In fact, some companies are trying to block VPNs (to no avail) because people can legally lower prices on services and goods online.

What is a VPN?

A VPN or Virtual Private Network software is a tool that can circumvent your internet connection into an encrypted, anonymous tunnel, thereby blanketing you from scammers, criminals, and data collectors, as well as changing the location of your unique IP address. Changing the IP address of your internet connection means effectively placing yourself in the country of your desire via proprietary servers. These servers are offered by quality VPN providers, and the really good ones will not even log your internet traffic. A VPN not only offers the ability to secure your connection miles better than any security suite but by using a clever little trick that a lot of people still do not know you can trick online services into offering you lower prices.

How to Save Money With a VPN?

Now how does this work exactly, and can you get in trouble for using a VPN? The answer to the first question is you can do it in a pinch, the answer to the second question is that it depends on the laws in your country (most developed countries have no issues with VPN usage as this is considered a personal cybersecurity tool). Premium VPNs such as Express or Nord and others are legitimate, commercial pieces of software that you can use with maximum peace of mind. These companies comply with international data regulations and data privacy regulations and are audited to boot.

To save money on subscriptions with a VPN, all you need to do is first subscribe with a premium VPN service of your choice, a simple online search will turn up hundreds of reviews for you to read and decide what suits you best. Next, once you have downloaded the VPN you need to activate it, set it up, and connect to one of the global servers available that you will see in the app’s server lists. Now, go to the website where you want to subscribe to a particular service such as Netflix or YouTube Premium. You will be offered a price by the company that you are subscribing to. Simply put, changing your VPN servers is going to give you different prices (maybe even different options) because services offer region-specific pricing, that is how it works. Simply put, you need to shuffle VPN servers and keep refreshing those prices until you land on a sweet price for the subscription you are looking for.

Do not forget to clear the history in your browser before attempting to get a price the second time on a different server, because your browser will remember your previous location and settings. By clearing your cookies and history in your browser, you will be able to eventually find a server (let’s say India for example) that, when connected, will give you a lower price for the services that you desire. Once you find the lowest price, you can simply purchase that subscription as if you were in India (or wherever you connect to).
