Startups are invited to join the world’s supply chains through Taiwan

Garage+ was jointly established by renowned companies in Taiwan under Epoch Foundation. It hosts the Startup Global Program (SGP) with the National Development Council (NDC) and the Asia Silicon Valley Development Agency (ASVDA) to assist the world’s startups in deepening their roots in the Asian market and working with Taiwanese suppliers. In the most thorough and efficient way, the SGP helps entrepreneurs to open up businesses and gather resources. The selected teams this year (2022) will join a two-week plan from May 16 to 26 to speak with senior local executives individually. Together the participants shall discover technological collaboration, market expansion, and capital investment opportunities. They will also take part in the world-famous Computex & InnoVex to make themselves known, whilst linking up with the capable industries in Taiwan, so as to thrive fast in the business world.
Many of the SGP fellows have noted that Taiwanese company executives are much more capable than their international counterparts, in terms of making decisions and carrying out plans. Since they are experts in R&D, they can quickly make prototypes. They also know how to do business with the world. This makes them perfect partners for startups that focus on software/hardware integration, or hardware alone. SGP fellow Seamus Hatch, CMO of Invision AI in Israel, visited Taiwan in 2018. Hatch noted, “I will certainly encourage other companies thinking about moving into the Asia market. This is a great program to be a part of. You get the introduction of the senior levels to all of your potential customers and partners who intend to collaborate with your technology.”
Nicholas Allott, CEO of NQM.AI in the UK, also said “The program could be enormously valuable to any high-tech company that wants to make partnerships with high-technology companies from Taiwan, whether partnerships or access to the Asia market.” NQM.AI had long developed their products, but could not reach any senior executives that could potentially be their clients. After joining the SGP, NQM.AI was finally able to do so.
Since January this year, Epoch Foundation has been promoting the Startup Global Program in all major startup cities across the world. The foundation has so far received a total of 308 applications from top-notch technological startups in 36 countries, such as Canada, USA, UK, Poland and Singapore, and selected 24 startups with great potential in sectors such as IoT, AI, V2X, and green energy. According to the SGP jury, the 24 teams are highly capable, especially in terms of research and development. These teams also take practical steps to solve problems. Epoch Foundation looks forward to seeing these teams create more business opportunities with local sectors together.
