Dov Katz is the creator of 2130 labs. He is currently living in Ramat Hasharon with his wife, 3 children and expecting another. Other than building a company, he loves to spend time with his family, play video games and watch football.

What has been Dov’s experience?

Dov has professionally led organisations and technological teams. He is an expert in robots, artificial intelligence, and computer vision. We would say that Dubi Katz is a perfectionist that pays attention to the smallest details, he loves building teams and assisting people in growing and realising their professional potential.

In Dov Katz’s academic studies he concentrated on the study of AI and artificial vision for robotics. He defined a new area termed interactive perception, where robots learn to know their world by trial and error, just like kids. The robots play with objects and learn how they work. In later stages, Dov’s technology was used in a US army project where he built a robot to clear piles of objects and fractures after an earthquake or a terrorist attack.

After that Dov started working at Oculus where he was one of the first employees to lead the field of computer vision and AI. “I solved a very critical problem in the product – which was tracking the user’s head movement. The product they developed undoubtedly changed the world and brought the virtual augmented reality revolution that is seen today.

Dov graduated with a PHD at the UMass Amherst and then a postdoctoral fellowship at the Robotics Institute of Carnegie Mellon University.

What is Dubi Katz currently doing?

Today, Dov Katz leads his company 2130 Labs which specialises in treatments for mental health problems and uses herbal-based therapy to provide solutions. It includes using cannabis and other organic medicines. “By combining the customised technology we’re currently building with AI to create a customised one-of-a-kind therapy, one that’s unique to each person” said Dov.

Dubi Katz and his colleagues are now creating technology that looks like an inkjet printer and can mix a range of natural material cartridges to generate a treatment that is unique and tailored for each person with the help of data and AI. This treatment is designed to assist those who are suffering from anxiety, sleeplessness, depression, obesity, low energy, loss of attention, and a variety of other issues.

“The plant-based medicine market is a great market to experience billions of dollars of earnings per year. Even though this market has plenty of good intentions, the application of science and technology is found very little. We consider that having smart algorithms, a lot of data, and a hardware solution at the core of it all, will enable us to guide the market and impose a better and new direction to it.” Said Dubi.

Dov Katz will continue to be in the industry of computer vision, machine learning, robotics and AI, which he applied in both the academic part of his life and throughout his career.
