If you’ve always wanted to visit Japan, but aren’t sure where to start, read our guide on how to plan a trip to Japan.

Kyoto is the highlight of a trip to Japan

If you are thinking of taking a vacation to Japan, you should include Kyoto as part of your itinerary. Kyoto is full of culture and tradition, the complete opposite of modern Tokyo and Osaka. The city is filled with countless temples and shrines, making it an ideal destination for both families and individuals looking for an authentic Japanese experience.

If you’re looking for something to do during your stay in Kyoto, you’ll find that the city is bustling with activity. A visit to Kyoto’s famous Nishiki market is a must, as it’s full of tradition and history. Click here for more information. Whether you’re looking for souvenirs or a unique piece of artwork, you’ll have plenty of options.

In addition to its temples, Kyoto is home to the Fushimi Inari Shrine, which is the site of a famous Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of rice. This shrine features thousands of orange torii gates. Although the shrine is open 24 hours a day, you can best experience it during sunrise or sunset. Kyoto also has several famous sights and sounds, including the ancient city center and its famous shrines.

Dotonbori is a blaze of neon signs

Dotonbori is one of the most famous districts in Japan, and for good reason. Despite the neon-lit atmosphere, the streets are a feast for the senses. If you’ve never seen anything like it before, take the time to wander down Dotonbori’s famous yokocho, or arcade. This covered shopping district is reminiscent of an old-fashioned arcade in Tokyo, but with a modern touch.

Visitors are encouraged to take pictures of the famous Glico Man. While the man himself isn’t a tourist attraction, he’s a popular landmark. You’ll also find a number of street food stalls in the area. Good vacation packages to Japan should allow for plenty of authentic and unique places to eat for travellers. While you’re here, you should take a cruise down the canal. Aside from seeing the neon lights up close, the canal is also a great spot to enjoy the nightlife.

Applying for a visa before traveling

If you plan to travel to Japan, you will need to apply for a visa in advance. While most Japanese Embassies do not accept individual applications, it is still possible to submit them through a travel agency.

Generally, it takes about five days to process your application, starting from the day you submit it. Once processed, your visa will be attached to your passport and will be valid for up to three months.

Applicants must pay a fee to apply for a visa. This fee is payable in the local currency, and is subject to change. Payment must be made at the time of application. You will receive a receipt as proof of payment.

There are two types of visitor visas in Japan: short-term stay and long-term. Short-term visas are granted to those who have a Japanese relative who lives in Japan. To apply for a family-related visa, you must have at least 3 years of professional experience in the field of your interest.

Booking activities in advance

It is always better to book activities in advance when planning a trip to any destination. Although you might not need to cancel the activity, it would help to know that there are many options.

Many sites offer free cancellations, but you should check the cancellation policy of each one. Some offer free cancellation up to 72 hours in advance.

In order to save time and avoid long queues, booking activities in advance is essential. The best time to make reservations is three months before you depart. You can make reservations for bullet train rides in advance at JR offices at the station, or on the day of departure.

The bullet train stations are well signposted, so look for shinkansen signs. If you don’t find a sign, ask for help. There are certain cars that are reserved, and it is recommended to make a reservation if you plan on riding a long train.
