Being an entrepreneur comes with a high price tag, and if you’re not willing to pay for it, you may want to think about doing something else. Robin Abou Trabi was willing to pay the price, and after many struggles, he finally made it, and today, he’s living the life he could have only dreamed of several years’ prior.

Robin was born to Lebanese parents in 1986 but raised in the United Arab Emirates. His father had hopes and aspirations for his family that Lebanon couldn’t give them, so he packed up and left. Robin did well in school, graduated and set his sights on fulfilling his career goals of becoming a filmmaker. After being accepted into Middlesex university in the United Kingdom to study filmmaking, he left everything he was familiar with and made his way to England. He did exceptionally well in his studies, and graduated with a BA Hons; however, things took a turn for the worst when personal circumstances forced him to abandon his dreams and move back to Lebanon.

Robin states that he experienced some dark times because his dream wasn’t deferred, it was dashed. There was no way he could make it happen in his home country, but he was determined to make a life for himself. After studying the market, he decided that cybersecurity was the way forward. But Robin wasn’t prepared to become an employee, he did something that was totally unconventional and started his own importing business. It was a massive success, and it was during this time that he realized that not becoming a filmmaker had actually paved the way to greater things. He soon discovered that becoming a filmmaker would have restricted his ability. Robin had capabilities that he wasn’t aware of, becoming an entrepreneur enabled him to tap into a reservoir of buried potential.

Robin got married in 2011 to Laila Abou Trabi, and they currently have three children together. After four successful years working in the cybersecurity industry, he saw a greater opportunity in the social media world and began developing entertainment and sports news pages. These included Ma3luma, Fi Sura, Thaqafa, Bela Hodoud, and several others. The pages attracted a lot of attention, and they generated over 30 million likes within a few months. Robin used Google AdSense to drive additional traffic to his social media pages, and between the years 2010 and 2017, the pages had attracted views in the millions.

When Robin decided to try his hand at real estate, he was taking a great risk. The industry had been at an all time low for several years, and experts were unable to predict when it was going to recover. However, in a recent interview, Robin stated that despite the crippled real estate economy, he had a feeling that things were about to pick up and decided to invest anyway. He wasn’t wrong, he made his first investment and saw a massive return. The real estate industry was making a comeback, and apartment buildings had started selling. Investors were making substantial profits and seeing an average of $60,000 return on their investments. Robin made a hefty profit and then turned to agriculture.

After purchasing some land, he planted thousands of palm trees to gain a foothold in the extremely successful agriculture industry. It only made sense that he moved in this direction because agriculture generates 3.2% of Lebanon’s gross domestic product. It would have been unwise for him not to make an investment. After making his mark in agriculture, Robin moved onto the construction industry.

Once again, he was advised not to invest here because construction was experiencing an economic crisis. The Lebanese government owed construction workers millions, and it didn’t look like they were paying up any time soon. Contracts were being cancelled by the thousands, and buildings were left uncompleted. But Robin decided to take the risk, and in 2018, he built his first residential building in Dahr El Ahmar. The investment worked out in his favor.

Since 2019, Robin has focused on expanding his empire and invested in several businesses such as GoDaddy, Sedo, and Dan.com. Him and his partner established the press release distribution company PRShouts. In 2021, Robin developed the popular ecommerce app and website that gives everyday shoppers the opportunity to win luxury prizes such as cars, technology, and cash. The names of consumers are placed in a draw, and Dubai’s Department of Economic Development announces the winners.

Robin Abu Trabi is more than an entrepreneur, he is committed, dedicated, and works with a mindset that is unwilling to settle for mediocrity. Most business men find it very difficult to master more than one industry, but not Robin! He has made a name for himself in some of the most obscure fields in the country, and he still has plenty more to accomplish.
