The COVID-19 pandemic has rolled out a giant sea swell of entrepreneurial activity. Many people have been laid off from their jobs or furloughed, for starters. They’ve had to get creative to make ends meet with bills to pay and mouths to feed. What’s more creative than starting your own business?

In addition, staying at home has given people a lot of time to pursue long-held dreams and interests. With fewer places to go and people to see, now is the perfect time to start that business you’ve always wanted or learn that new skill you’ve been meaning to.

This is what happened with Eliza Carbines, the Founding Director at Tender Relief. Her company is one of the most promising startups to have emerged from the pandemic. Tender Relief is a company focusing on providing assistance, workshops, a tender response template, and training to clients who want to bid for tenders and government contracts across the region.

How did this Karratha-based company become one of the top startups in Western Australia? In January 2019, Tender Relief started as a tender support consultancy, providing training, management services, and support for Australia’s regional businesses.

It almost started by accident because many businesses kept asking Eliza to help with their tenders, and she would do it. At first, she was doing all the work alone.

However, before long, she realized that there was a real opportunity to grow Tender Relief into something much bigger. So then, Eliza hired some people to help with the business.

Imagine from doing it all alone to now having a staff. Additionally, Tender Relief became a registered business entity in Australia in less than twelve months. Founding Director Eliza shared, “After registering the business, I quickly realized that there was potential to help many businesses if we scaled up the services.”

Eliza started exploring the idea of creating a business model that provides more than just tender support. Tender Relief would become a one-stop shop online for businesses, with services including training, management, and marketing.

But to be able to turn this idea into reality, Eliza knew that she needed to get investment. So in 2020, she joined the LaunchPad Program, an accelerator program that helps startups get off the ground.

The program was created to find and teach regional businesses in Australia how to pitch their business. Eliza added, “Meshpoints’ LaunchPad Program in Karratha was brilliant,” where Tender Relief won.

This win gave Eliza the confidence to pursue her business goals. In the same year, Eliza set on to participate in the Golden Ticket Pitch, where she secured a place in the Plus Eight Bootcamp.

Eliza shared, “The Plus Eight Bootcamp was a fantastic experience. I learned so much about how to structure and run my business.” Best of all, she was able to secure a spot in the 2021 Plus Eight Accelerator Program.

The next big thing for Tender Relief just happened recently, when they landed $100,000 in funding via the RED Grant Initiative. Eliza added, “This was all possible due to my participation in the Plus Eight Program.”

The tech company was able to articulate the credibility and validation of their business to the grant panel, which secured them the funds. The Plus Eight community has brought immense opportunity, experience, and exposure to Tender Relief.

With this, Tender Relief is undoubtedly one of the top startups in Australia. The company’s story to the top isn’t one of luck but hard work, dedication, and resilience in the face of challenges.

We can all learn from Eliza Carbines and her company Tender Relief. Anything is possible when we put our minds to it and surround ourselves with the right community.

The company’s journey has been an amazing one, and it all started with Eliza’s determination to succeed. So if you’re feeling inspired by Tender Relief’s story and are thinking of starting your own business, remember that you too can make your dreams a reality.

All you need is a bit of creativity, hard work, and resilience. Who knows? You might be the next big thing to come out of the pandemic.

Overall, Tender Relief’s mission is to help businesses in regional Australia succeed in the tendering process. The company offers training, support, and management to help businesses win government contracts.

If you’re a business owner in regional Australia, check out Tender Relief! Even with all of their success, Eliza and her team continue to strive to help more businesses. When asked about the future of Tender Relief, Eliza said, “We want to be able to help as many businesses as possible. We’re constantly expanding our services and looking for new ways to support our clients.”

It’s clear that Tender Relief is here to stay. Thus, be sure to keep an eye out for this company, as they’re sure to achieve even more great things in the future!
