Today our organism is affected by various factors, including climate chinga, stress and lack of vitamins. The state of hair is not an exception. Hence, the need to apply additional care to your curls has increased a lot. The hair of most adults has its own characteristics that do not allow you to reduce care to using only shampoo. The shampoo removes dirt, dust and sebum, but for complete protection, you should also use a hairmask.
Types of hair masks
Masks are very different from each other in their composition, respectively, and the result of their application will be different. So, the first thing to do is to determine your hair type. This is really important, otherwise you can get the effect that is just the opposite of what you want: for example, a volume mask will make coarse frizzy hair even less manageable, and an intensive moisturizing mask will provoke oily hair quickly. When you have figured out your hair type, let’s talk about the most suitable and effective hair products for you. Masks can be divided into several main groups:
- for dry damaged hair;
- for colored hair;
- to strengthen hair (from falling out);
- tinting, etc.
If you have a mixed hair type, try using several options to choose the most suitable product for you.
Masks for dry damaged hair
Perhaps, masks are especially useful for dry hair, when you suffer from moisture loss, split ends, dull and lifeless curls. In this case, deeply moisturizing and nourishing masks will be the most effective. One of the best products for these purposes is a hairmask based on keratin and hops, which normalizes the hydrolipid balance of the scalp, smoothes messy split ends and, with regular use, literally revitalizes damaged hair.
By the way, a mask for curly hair has a similar composition, since curly hair is usually dry and lacks shine. For example, protein products are recommended for both dry damaged and curly hair: they not only moisturize and nourish the hair, but also eliminate excessive fluffiness, allowing you to turn unruly curls into luxurious elastic curls!
Masks for colored hair
The next type of hair that needs special care is dyed hair. Any dyed, but especially – blond. The best masks for colored hair have special acids in their compound, which allows you to keep the resulting shade in its original state for a long time. They should contain components that stabilize the pigment. By the way, if at the moment you do not have a special mask for colored hair, you may well use masks for dry damaged hair, since these two types of hair have similar needs. There are several tips on hairmask using:
- The usage of the hairmask is appropriate for 1-2 times per week.
- However, if the hair needs intensive restoration, it is better to make a procedure after each wash with shampoo.
- Conversely, if your hair is in good condition and you just want to maintain that state, once a week is enough.
- You need to apply the mask along the entire length of the hair, if the hair is dry and not too long (but without affecting the roots).
- Apply the product on the ends of the hair, if the hair is oily at the roots.
Thus, if you follow all these recommendations, you will reach an aim of having healthy, shiny and well-groomed curls even at home!
