What Is Picazor? A Review Of The Facebook Downloader That Got My Story Right
Picazor is a free website at picazorlive.com that downloads Facebook videos, reels, stories, photos and albums from a link you paste into one bar. You don’t log in, you don’t install an app, and it doesn’t ask you to add a browser extension. I only found out it actually works that way after I gave it the same story link I had already given to the sites Google ranks for this, and those sites failed.
The Story I Wanted To Save
LADbible had a story up with 3 slides about Christa Pike, each one a picture with a big headline across it. It was 3 hours old when I opened it, so it had less than a day left before Facebook would take it down, and Facebook gives you no save button on somebody else’s story.
So I copied the link straight from the address bar:
facebook.com/stories/105029611658935/UzpfSVNDOjIzNjIyODAzMTc5MzI5Mjc=/
There was a little globe next to LADbible’s name, which is how Facebook marks a post as public. Remember that globe, because one of the sites below decided it wasn’t there.
What Google Showed For “Facebook Stories Downloader”
I searched the plain phrase most people would type and looked at the results:
- Story Saver, an Android app on Google Play
- FDOWN at fdown.net
- FvidGo at fvidgo.com
- SaveFrom, which works through its SaveFrom Helper browser extension
I was on my laptop, so the Play Store app was out, and I wasn’t going to install an extension to save 3 pictures. That left FDOWN and FvidGo, the 2 websites Google put highest for this.
FDOWN Called A Public Story Private
I pasted the link into FDOWN and pressed Download. A red box came up saying the video might be private and not public, and telling me to use their Google Chrome Extension to download any video.
The story was public, and the globe was right there. It also wasn’t a video, it was 3 pictures. So in one red box it got the privacy wrong and the file type wrong, and then offered me an extension as the fix for a problem that only existed on its side. Under the box there’s an update note from August 13, 2026 saying they squashed a few bugs and improved speed. I think they left one behind.
FvidGo Gave Me A Video That Was Never In The Story
FvidGo has a page made just for Facebook stories, so I had more hope there. I pasted the same link and a Download Files window opened with a 30 second video at 480p. In it a woman was speaking at a podium, with a Forbes CMO Summit sign behind her.
The LADbible story had no video in it at all. It had 3 still pictures of a different woman with headlines on them. I don’t know where FvidGo got that clip from, and I didn’t download it to find out.
This is worse than FDOWN’s error, because a person in a hurry would press Download, get a file, and think they had saved the story. They would only find out later, when the story was gone from Facebook and what they kept was somebody else’s video.
Picazor Brought Back All 3 Slides
Then I pasted the link into Picazor. The result card showed LADbible’s name, the word STORY, and “3 items”. Under it were the 3 slides, numbered 1/3, 2/3 and 3/3, each with its own JPG button, and a Download All button at the top right.
I checked them against the story open in my other tab. Same headlines, same pictures, same order. They came as JPG because they were photos, and Picazor didn’t try to turn them into a video. There was no popup before the download and no extension offer anywhere on the page.
Picazor also says the fetch happens from its own server and not from your account, so the person who posted the story doesn’t see your name in their viewer list.
Google Is Ranking The Sites That Failed
I don’t know why Google is not able to rank such sites that are providing value to the web and are solving something. It’s a $4 trillion company and still can’t handle what is legit and what is not.
Of the 4 results I looked at, 1 is an app, 1 is an extension, 1 told me a public story was private, and 1 gave me the wrong file. The site that did the job properly wasn’t on that screen at all.
What Else Picazor Can Download
Stories are what I tested, but the same paste bar takes other Facebook links and works out what kind they are:
- Videos as MP4, in HD when Facebook has HD and SD when it doesn’t
- Reels with the sound inside
- Single photos and full albums, including the photos hidden behind the “+12” on a post
- Every photo in a Marketplace listing
- Profile pictures at full size
- The audio from any video as an MP3
Where Picazor Won’t Help You
Picazor puts its own list of what it can’t do on the homepage, which I liked more than the “download anything” banners on other sites. It won’t fetch:
- Posts from private profiles, or friends only posts
- Posts inside private groups
- Stories that have already expired, even if you still have the link
- Live streams while they’re still running
- Profiles with Facebook’s profile lock
There’s also a limit of 20 downloads an hour and 100 a day for each person. If you’re saving a story or two, you’ll never get close to it.
Would I Use It Again
Yes. It was suggested to me by my friend, For any public story I want to keep for Instagram I rely on InstaFinsta for best experience and Picazor is where I’d paste the facebook story link first now. I’ve tested it on one story with 3 slides, which is one test, so put your own link through it before you trust it, the same way I put mine through the others.
