If you own a website, a blog or an eCommerce store, you should by now know how important getting positive reviews is for your online image as a brand. Studies show that over 90% of online buyers, always read reviews before placing in their orders. If nobody has written a review of your services, then it will always be hard to make sales.

Your customers can review your online business/website on several platforms that include; Google, Facebook, Alexa, etc. No matter the platform, positive reviews will always build confidence in your potential customers that in the end lead to making more sales.

When you make a sale, not all your customers will take the time to write something positive about your business. Actually, most of them will not. That’s why it is important to find ways of requesting your previous customers to write something positive about your business because some of them don’t even know that you want them to do so. In this article, I will take you through the strategies that you can use to ensure your customers write positive reviews about your business

#1: Make sure your customers are satisfied with your services

Before you ask a customer to write a review about your business, ensure that he/she is satisfied with your services. Because if they are not, they may end up writing a negative review which is worse than not having reviews. The most assured way of getting positive reviews is first all meeting the needs of your customers. If your customers are happy with your services, it will be easier for you to request them to write a positive review

#2: Ask for your customers’ honest opinions after serving them

After a customer has used your service or product, you should go ahead and ask them to share with you their experience while using your product. If something didn’t go well, try as much as you can to fix it. This will show the customer that you care about them and their experience with your product matters to you. If their feedback about your product shows satisfaction, then you can go ahead and ask them to reviews your services online.

#3: Create a landing page for reviews

If you have a website/blog or a web app, you can create a landing page that prompts your website users to leave feedback about your services. You can then go ahead and share the link to this landing page on your other digital platforms like social media and email. This will make it easy for your customers to write the reviews

#4: Reply all your reviews

If someone takes their time to write a review, it is important that you reply to them. Most importantly, you need to reply to both positive and negative reviews. Replying to reviews encourages more people to share theirs. Another important point to note is to avoid deleting negative reviews but instead address what the customer is talking about.

#5: Request for reviews via email and text messages

Whenever you make a sale, always ensure to get the contacts of your customers. After a couple of days, you can send them a message inquiring about their experience with your services/products.  After this, you can then go ahead and request them to review your business online.

#6: Add links to all review platforms on your website

Some of the most known platforms where customers leave reviews are Google and Facebook. Adding buttons that link to these platforms will make it easier for your customers to visit them and then leave a review.

#7: Give some form of incentives to those who review

Just like any other person, your customers value their time. So, at times you may have to offer those who write reviews with something small like a discount on one of your products or coupon code. This will attract many of your customers to review your business which will eventually benefit you in the long run

#8: Lastly, avoid spamming your customers

It is important to understand that some customers may not be interested in writing a review about your business or maybe they don’t have time to do so. If a customer doesn’t accept your request, take it in good faith and move on to the next. But don’t be tempted to send them multiple messages requesting them to review.

Conclusion

Following the above strategies and being a little patient should see you start getting a good number of online reviews about your business. The most important of all is to make sure you always do your best to meet the needs of your customers. It is easier to request a satisfied customer to write a review than one who is disappointed in your services. So always aim at meeting your customer’s needs and ask for reviews later on. Like any other business, you may get a few bad reviews. If this happens, simply accept them in good faith and above all learn from them. You also shouldn’t be tempted to argue with the customer on a review platform as this will show a lack of professionalism on your side.
